Hi Warriors, Is a backlink created once your link is placed on another site or does it have to be clicked on a certain amount of times before it gives your site any benefit? |

Nope. Once you create a link on antoher site your site gets credited as soon as the google spiders crawl the link. Which mostly takes a few day.

The little site note here is that there is the "nofollow" issue to deal with. If a link is posted with the rel="nofollow" property it won't typically be indexed in search engines... Some don't really follow this rule, and other do fairly strictly. So if you've got a backlink somewhere and it's not showing up you should check if it's a nofollow link. Just select the link, right click, view selection source and read the code... if you see rel="nofollow" that means that most search engines will ignor that link when they crawl the site. The OTHER thing to note is that they link won't show up until that site is crawled again. (Which can take anywhere from hours to days) To find out when google last crawled a site punch the address into google, then when the results disply click the little cached button under the result. When you're on the cached page it will say the date the cache was made - that's the date google was last at the site. |
