NEW TRENDS IN IM?

Hi,

Just something I have noticed as a current trend - in the past four days, I have received a ton of marketing messages that go one of two ways.

Either:

(a) They come up with a survey, then direct you to a sales page or an affiliate page.

This can be effective, but if you choose to use this method, keep it minimal - get the information you need, then get on with it - it's not going to be too long before people see past it, and don't take any survey you send them.

OR

(b) Going through to a plain video screen, (a sales video), where after a pre-determined time (in the javascript somewhere) another DIV TAG opens with the signup / add to cart button.

If you are going to use this method, if I were you, I'd put up a little video information on there so the client can see how much of their time you need. Oh, and another thing - (as always) Make it interesting - there's nothing worse (in my opinion) than having to wait through a 20 minute sales video, when all you want to do is buy it, but you know you can't until they let you. ???? What's your thoughts on that????

Anyway, two things really, just for the records, if anyone knows about Javascript, and can tell me how to apply this, it would be greatly appreciated, and if you want a really good (and free) survey host, try this company, surveybob.com

mmm.....can't help u with the javascript...

but if a customer has already been pre-sold, he or she may just leave "pre"-maturely if th e video carries on too long.

and the survey/affiliate trick will only work for so long...

and then it will ruin it for people who really want to do surveys to gather info....

Completely agree - to be honest, it's already old for me now - It's just in the last few days I've seen one of the 'BIG GURUS' doing it, and since they did, got tons of emails of affiliate marketers doing exactly the same thing. Thought it was worth a mention though.
