What's the best width for autoresponse text emails?

Hi, there,

I'm on several (probably some of your) lists, and I noticed that the characters per line is really small compared to an email I might receive from my colleagues.

What's a good guideline to follow for autoresponse opt-in emails, and are you doing these in a text-editor (as opposed to Word or something)?

Thanks a lot, and have a good day, all,

- Paul

    I'm not "autoresponder" genius but
if you use aWeber a lot of people
like to use their auto-format width
    tool.

    Now, someone told me they
use half of that so people who view
their e-mails on mobile devices can
    read it perfectly.

    Just food for thought.

55-65 characters. Where 55 looks better. Just
don't make it shorter. Looks bad the other way
      around.

Another things is to write text in many paragraphs.
And get most attention in sentence 1-2. Rest won't
      be read. And use headlines.
