Is it a word setting?

I just had a sales letter written for me and I got it in word format.
I pasted it into my web page and all through out it there are little square boxes. I seem to remember reading one time that this was a setting that can be turned on and off in word. Can anyone tell me where it is or how to fix this?

    Hi Kim,

    Not sure if this helps but if you are using NVU there is a setting where you can tell it not to reformat the code.

    If it is not down to your HTML editor then just go through and delete the little square boxes i think this sometimes happens when you copy and paste from word.
