I have a business question....Do you have the answer?

Hi,

So I'm in the process of building my first official business online. I've made money online as an affiliate every now and then but I decided to merge away from it and create my own business online.

One of my really good friend is the owner of a travel agency and I'm partnering up with him. We're going to be selling cruise vouchers for an incredibly small price that is affordable and economical on the budget...considering our economy today. =] I'll also be targeting companies to give to their affiliates as performance incentives or even thank you gifts for consultants to give to their clients.

I do have a few questions though...

I guess the problem that I'm running into is how to prove that I'm actually a legitimate business. I know the old saying "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" will haunt some of my potential customers. I want to brand the company and keep it a separate entity from my partners agency. I'm just starting up so my budget isn't exactly where I want it to be. I've thought of trust seals but they are all too expensive for now. Of course, when the sales start rolling, I would be purchasing those seals.

So my question is...when you shop around online, what do you look for that instills trust in the company? Anything besides 3rd party trust seals? If you're someone who has their own affiliate program or an offline consultant of any kind, would you be interested in the product?

Appreciate the answers.

I would be interested in the product if it brought value to my life and/or business, but most impotantly, I would only be interested if I was interested in you. In other words, I find in online marketing with my own business that I have to build a personal relationship with my prospects and personally brand myself before my business and before they'll do business with me.

I do this by video markeing via a squeeze page. I start with a compelling headline followed by a 2 min. video introducing myself and a LITTLE bit about the product/service and company with an opt-in section, followed by a paragraph with compelling copy. After the opt-in page I have another video that tells them more about my offer and on the 3rd page I tell them how to order or get a FREE consultation with myself, as I lead prospects down my marketing funnel.

The video for myself serves the important function of building a personal relationship with my propects, personal branding and instituting attraction marketing. For the people who opt-in and don't purchase, they are directed to AWeber where they are autoresponded every few days with video E-mail. After 1-2 weeks, the prospects actually feel that they know me since they have seen me speak to them personally so many times and feel very comfortable either ordering from me or calling me up.

In other words, if they're not interested in doing business with me personally, I couldn't even sell them bottled water in the Sahara, and this begins by building a personal relationship with people via video marketing.

That's what works for me. Best of luck to you!

    Barry
