Article marketing test

Hey there everyone!

I've read a lot of things about article marketing, and I've done a bit myself, but nothing too extensive.

For the next 21 days, I'm going to write at least 10 articles a day for ezines/go articles/etc to see if that gets me any results.

My hopes is that I would get a decent CTR and some money coming in, but at the very least I'll be getting some decent backlinks.

I'll report back here when I'm done to let you know how it goes!!

Wow, where are you getting all those articles?
I prefer to have other folks write them. That
    is a ton of writing!!!!

You can spin them for free at article jetspinner.
Maybe that will help you get more articles done
    and posted.

I will definitely check back to see how you're doing. As a freelance writer, I have just started to sell my own articles. But, I have also to decided to beef up my affiliate marketing campaigns through article marketing.
I really want to know how it goes for you. Good luck!

    Wow, thanks guys!

I had planned on writing them all myself. I've done 5 so far today and am about to go to sleep after I write a linkwheel.

I will definitely check out mark walters!

Will definitely let you guys know what happens. I'll test out different resource boxes etc.

    Thanks for the support!

Wow, Mattaym that's great. I did the same thing as you. I now have 14 live articles and 1 pending. I started Jan 9th. In my down time, I spend the time keyword researching, and learning everything I can to better myself. Best of luck to you! Hope you succeed and don't ever give up

I would take a few days and read this entire thread before you start posting.. You are better to post those articles to your site first ...

Step by step plans are on that threads...

Sounds like a great test, just be sure that you are testing different resource boxes. I had one article marketing campaign where I stubbornly refused to change the resource box because I thought it was great. 38 articles later and no sales had me beating my head against the wall.

Wrote two more just so I would make it an even 40 and switched to a shorter resource box. After they went live I saw three sales come in. I was pretty pissed thinking what could have been if i had just changed it earlier. Oh well.

    Good luck to you.

Be sure to let us know how it is going. Rien has a great point. Getting click throughs from your article to your web site or lead capture page can depend not only on the quality of your article content but the copy in your resource box.

This is pretty much exactly how I started out, I promise you will see results.

But only if you do good keyword research, make sure not to skimp on that.

If I could start all over again with article submissions at EZA,
the one thing I would do is not to submit all the articles at the
    same time.

When I first started article marketing I would pump out 10 articles
then upload them all at once. I was submiiting to categories that
got a lot of traffic and because of the amount of traffic, there
were a ton of authors submitting articles.

What ended up happening was all the hours I spent writing, would
get me maybe 30 views per article. After all was said and done, if
    I was lucky I would get one sale. (10 articles x 30 views each = 300
views; The product I was promoting was converting at about 1% for me
and at a 30% CTR, I was lucky to get more than one sale a day.)

I could not figure it out, then I sat down and looked at what was
happening. All of my articles went in at the same time and then got
approved at the same time. Considering the amount of articles getting
submitted, my articles would all stay in the "most recent" section for
maybe an hour or two at best.

Now, unless these articles make it to the first page of Google or are
picked up by a publisher, then the only real chance they stand at making
sales is at the "most recent" section.

My advice, if you are submitting that many and do not have a premium
account at EZA, then upload your articles throughout the day.

If it were me I would do all my writing in the morning, then submit a few
at lunch, a few at dinner and a few right before I went to bed. That way
at least your articles are constantly showing up throughout the day and
not getting pushed off that category quickly.

Chiming in a bit late here, but be careful if all 10 articles/day are in the same niche and will go into the same category at EZA. You'll end up competing with yourself for article views, which will hurt your cause. If you could do 10/day forever, then I'd say go for it. But that's not realistic. I think a better plan is 4-5/day max, spread out over more days. I can almost guarantee you that will result in more views/article, which means more click-throughs and conversions.

Thanks for all the tips and support guys!

I'm using Xfactor's book to test out a few things, plus what I learned in the 30 day challenge by ed dale.

It took around 11 sites before I made 1 cent and finally figured out how to get better rankings, etc.

Right now I have the next 3 or so weeks off work and I'm not in school, so I'm testing everything I can and tweaking it for maximum results vs efforts

I was actually really surprised to see from google analytics that I had a click to one of my sites from a wordpress that I'd just set up, and it was set up for the sole intention and purposes of a linkwheel to boost my main site's stats.

My eventual goal is to have $150/day coming in and I'm willing to put in the effort to do that.

Unless you are promoting to the IM niche, the early visitors to your pages may not be all that relevant as those who are searching at EA and looking at the "most recent" listing are often other marketers.

You should be looking at drawing traffic from those who are searching within that niche, especially those who are close to buying. This means considering ways to boost the ranking of the articles you've written and published.

If you are drawing traffic from EA articles, this is acting as an effective filter of traffic that is being sent to the pre-sell pages on your website. It is possible to use this to draw to your directory articles from more broadly targeted traffic that is still related (feeder pages) and refine it further with the content on your website before sending it on to the merchant.

It can therefore be beneficial to increase the search engine ranking of both the directory article and the page on your website, especially if the content is different.

Often writers will simply post the same article to both their own website and to the directory. However, I find it helpful to have additional material on the website that the articles on the directory can refer to, which encourages those most interested to click through to your site.

Your web page can then be optimized to pre-sell a particular product, with, say, 20, 30, 40+ articles sending traffic to that page on your website.

Alright, so here's my results thus far:

I'm finding it very hard to write 10 unique articles a day for marketing, so I'm doing around 5/day, and writing articles for my sites.

I built a new website and used article marketing to get it backlinked and indexed, and my articles are all indexed, yet my site isn't! lol

Am going to take most of today off, and I'm going to get back into it.

I've made $0.54 cents with adsense so far. lol. Yay, go me!
