Have You Ever Won A Paypal Dispute For A Digital Product?

I get some disputes from time to time, and I always lose them. No
matter what reason I give, paypal always reverses the money to
the buyer, even if the buyer files a dispute solely to get
a refund.

Has anyone ever won a dispute?

Remember I'm talking about digital products and services.

Best Regards,
Johnny

Thats the risk you take in accepting paypal. i think its fair enough that the buyer gets a refund as the seller knows the ease of the buyer getting a refund as such.

I have. It was a few years ago, and I forget exactly what the product was, but it was something for about $15. A guy bought it, and then put in a PayPal dispute without even contacting me. He said something like he didn't receive it, even though I know he did and I sent it to him by email again just to be sure. PayPal still gave him a full refund.

After a few days, he emailed me to apologize and said he had the WRONG SELLER! Hah! He did, however, get his money back from me, his digital product from me, and apparently a refund from the other seller - the one he intended to go after in the first place!

I told this to PayPal, and also asked him to tell PayPal as well. Nothing came of it, and it wasn't a very large amount of money so I was going to let it go. The I got an email for one of those PayPal satisfaction surveys and I told them I was unhappy and why (just as I stated above). Not expecting any reply, I was shocked when I did, and even more shocked when PayPal returned the $15 to me!

I'm surprised that they send it to you that easily. You sure it
      was paypal? lol

Oh yes, it was PayPal alright. But this was a few years ago, maybe 5 or more years ago. I haven't been that active selling online lately (just getting into it now), so maybe it was easier then.

I actually spent considerable time arguing with PayPal, then realized the dollar amount was so small that it wasn't worth it. On a whim, I filled out the satisfaction survey, and that's what got the refund reversed. Otherwise it seemed like PayPal took the side of the buyer no matter what. Even when there was overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I purchased graphic design work from a top quality graphic designer. He did half the work and then requested payment, and I payed 2/3 (200.00), and sent it as a gift so paypal didnt skim money off the top.

The seller then displayed the poorest attention to time possible, and dodged meeting and strung me out every now and then. It came time to file a complaint and get my money back, and Paypal wouldnt honor the dispute because I had selected gift.

He eventually honored his part of the bargin, but I was well taxed in happiness by the time I got my product. And I learned a lesson.

        1. never pay more than 1/2 before job completion (probably should pay only 1/3) and , never gift someone you do not know.

Use kunaki and start sending your stuff out on CD. Tracking numbers will usually win a paypal dispute.

Yes, telling Paypal that the product was an intangible protects you from chargebacks.
When they ask for a carrier and tracking (insert INTANGIBLE). Make sure they are aware and use INTANGIBLE often in text.

If your customer paid with a paypal balance, that's the end of it.
However if they paid by credit card and the customer requests a chargeback from the credit card company, they almost always succeed and you will have to pay fees on top.

With smaller amounts the chargeback via cc company is unlikely since the time involved for the customer is substantial.

I just had a recent case 3 -4 days ago, when the buyer, after he bought my services, he reversed the payment , putting the reason unauthorized access to his account.
i ve emailed paypal telling it it was a lie, and explained them, that i can even provide the with chat logs on what i ve talked with the buyer, and in 24 hours , the ve denied the chargeback and released my funds
I was very happy especially since there were involved around 800$
So from time to time , Paypal, "screws" it , and really makes justice

I win almsot everyone, of course i have a paypal europe account which may have different rules, I dont if thats true

Though i do know because every product i have is delivered from behind a membership script and make everyone login to get their product (even the free ones) I can give paypal proof they logged into access the product

including IP address number and dates of the times they logged in

So unless there was genuine fraud/identity theft paypal always finds in my favour

As chargebacks and refunds cost me money, in the fact your paypal fees rise if you give/or get to many reversals i fight everyone

My policy is...If you go through the correct channels IE through my support desk and ask for a refund your 90% sure of getting one... If you start a paypal dispute your 99% sure of not getting one

We haven't had many disputes but at the same time we didn't win any of those we had. Now I have disputed a payment made to a website which ignored it and didn't place the ads I bought online. I'm curious whether I'm getting resolution or not.
