Are popular, profitable niches overdone and no longer profitable?

At least two "experts" in IM claim that popular, profitable niches such as dog-training are obsolete and that one cannot make any money with yet another ebook, say, on dog training. Same is true of other popular niches.

The money, they claim, is in local niches, say, restaurants, attractions in your own community. Very few, if any, marketers are focusing on such niches. So the key is to get on the ground floor, so to speak.

I personally believe that this is a lot of baloney.

Everyone has his or her unique perspective or "take" on areas such as dog training, however. So wise marketers are eager to share what they have learned about solving various problems, giving that information their own spin.

Or maybe I'm just overwhelmed or confused. How can a niche on some aspect of New York museums or double-decker buses be profitable while a niche on stress, for example, be overdone and not as profitable?

I do not think "unprofitable" is the correct term, more like "much harder to get to a position of profitability" .

Obviously these highly competitive niches are profitable or you would not have so many people chasing them. The problem is not that they are not profitable but that getting the ranking needed to be profitable is much harder.

Are they worth doing? I guess it depends on how much money and time you are willing to invest to get there.

I started a dog training site 3 weeks ago and have made over $700 from it. It was MUCH more work than more obscure niches, but to say anything is obsolete is reaching. 25% of searches entered into google each day have never been entered before, so every month there are new keywords to go after. Besides, anything on clickbank is going to have some competition, just because everyone and their pet ferret is sent there to promote products.

I think that especially if you create your own product for the niche, you'll be fine.

I have a dog training site that I'd forgotten about make a sale about 5 minutes ago.

Contrary to what people will tell you, there is no such thing as a niche being too saturated. When a niche has heaps of competition that means there is heaps of money being made within it.

Niches like weight loss, dog training, making money online, etc. are not going anywhere any time soon. If anything they'll continue to grow.

Dig deep within the big niches and you can find plenty of low competition keywords to go after.

Well, everyone on the Internet is already as rich, physical fit, and lucky in love as we want to be. And we all have well-trained dogs. I guess the only thing left to sell is a museum guide. I have some questions about your museum guide. I just bought a double decker bus that I let my dog drive. (He's very well trained.) This is OK in New York, isn't it?

Assuming you can find someone to ship it to America...

Are you in the market for a red double decker with a great shipping deal to America??

Hmmm... Perhaps those "experts" are coming out with their ebook or course on dominating "local" niches and are simply setting the stage.

Bingo! One of them is selling an ebook about those local niches, with info such as how to find and dominate them and then make money from them.
