2010 GIVEAWAY - 54 FREE IM gifts

It was to my luck that I love to be nosy, so whilst browsing warrior profiles I clicked-through to some blogs, and while surfing came across link advertising a 2010 GIFT GIVEAWAY and I was like, ok that sounds cool lets see what it is.

Anyway, it came to a page with 54 Marketers who had gotten together and contributed their own gift.

It covers different aspects of IM like, traffic building, niche sites, article marketing, and so much more!

Each offer is unique!

Here's the deal, for each gift they require you to opt-in, so if you're going to grab them all I'd make an e-mail or use a seperate one to your business E-mail, some of them cross market each others products so sometimes you might try downloading something twice, and some of them include extra gifts once opted in.

Here's the link:

Giveaway 2010 | Download FREE Internet Business Building Gifts! James Brown & Kevin Riley www.giveaway2010.com

Sorry if this has been posted, if not please thank this if it helped you out at all.

Jay.

Hi Jay, Thanks for this I have in the past downloaded lots of freebies but it is the emails after that are a pain!but I guess that is what happens when you sign up to IM's list

That's true but you can use an email like spamallyoulike@gmail.com to opt-in.

That is so unprofessional .. Sorry but I do not think you should be telling people to do no such thing. I think you will find many around here will look down on such tactics.

If you want the gifts then use a real email, if you do not want the emails then unsub or do not join to begin with ...

If the E-mails are of no value there-on after, unsubscribe

Personally I have an E-mail dedicated to signing-up under anyone I can find, then I note the people who provide useful information, because sometimes they might provide me with great information followed by an affiliate link, and if I really think it could help me I go ahead and buy it

I never use to be able to do this, I was limited to buying what was in my budget, now if I know someone usually delivers or there's is even the slightest difference in method I'm not scared to go ahead and buy it.

Plus, I've heard you can claim back money paid on books if they are required to improve your learning and business.

  • The best products aren't always the ones you had to pay for

All it takes is that one bit of information, that one quote, that one method that could set you off

Plus these are free, I wont say no to 'FREE'

One of these, namely the "Free Article Writing & Marketing Software" redirects me to paypaL were it asks for $27 - no kidding. This is not free.

  • If they do that, it's another product within that page sales page, and the download links comes by e-mail, and some are free DVDs, but you have to pay shipping costs.

I manage to download around 90% of them without paying for shipping or paying anything

    Jay.

  • I don't get you? this is a marketing ploy, and you can easily see that.

Each marketer provides you with free content of his product, and the chance to go deeper by buying, but even the reports would contain some gems for newbies or even experts.

It doesn't lack FREE stuff, each link has a piece of free content, be it software, video or audio, like any other Sales page.

If you don't want to be e-mailed after just opt out, and you walk away with pdf files and videos regarding IM.

As a freebie seeker, I'd be chuffed, I've downloaded about 20+ pdf files and most are over 20+ pages, 30+ videos and some software. What's not to like?

    And I didn't pay a thing...

As one of the contributors - I can say that this is not some lame giveaway full of old stuff that's all over the internet.

We all paid $100 to be in the giveaway and as John said - (apart from the top 2 listing - from the guys running the event) the products are listed in order of who sends the most traffic to the giveaway.

I know that for my product - there's no OTO or autoresponder full of messages.

I've sent 2 messages to the people that grabbed my ebook and one had a free gift and a discount offer, the other was just content telling them how I plan to help them grow their business this year.

I've only had 2 people out of 800 unsubscribe after joining and I'll be looking after them well, so I expect good retention rates.

There are lot of lame giveaways running all the time with crap products and poor scripts running them - this is not one of those.

Even if you don't want my traffic ebook, there's a lot of good stuff there and I picked up a few of them myself.

  • Damn straight! Actually there's a CPA book I got of one of the guys about being an Advertiser from CPA, and the mistakes that can happen if you have a hot product and don't plan for huge traffic and super affiliates, and also how to crack a deal with CPA networks, and making amendments to the IO they send you.

Also that you can earn so much through CPA that the bank for no reason can freeze your account and detain your money without further notice for ever pretty much.

It cost the guy over $1.3million and now if/when I get into it I will be better equipped because of his free book.

Most JV Events have went downhill in the last several years due to the same old junk being giving away and nobody really actually requiring brand new unique items...

I see Andy's post above and if it was not one of those Lame events then kudos for those that are actually trying to change it back to the way it used to be ...

Are you saying people should use a new throw away email that they have no intention of using other than to get access to the giveaway material? If so...that's rather sad.

Many do it Lance .... Which is another reason why giveaway events wen downhill .. Many know that some of those contributors will do nothing but spam the heck out of them so they use a junk email..

This is why the traditional giveaway is dead .. I know many will agree (and some will not) that in the last few years these giveaway have become more and more useless..

That's why I stay away from participating giveaway now. Unless I can formulate some methods to grab valuable list, not junk.

One of the cures in my opinion is this --

Don't ask for optin. Just straightaway offer the download link. Show the download link in a discussion forum.

Reward more gifts according to the numbers of genuine forum posts.

By doing this way, we could gain not just email list but also PM list. I think...

Then I may just have something for you real soon .. I agree do away with the opt-in requirement but there are also other methods and ways to do this.... I am working (well got one of my staff working) on this very thing right now.

It's only fair to give the people contributing the free gifts a chance. I don't encourage people to sign up and then to unsubscribe. If the emails are not useful, it's natural to unsubscribe. And I also know that quite a few contributors got the whole thing wrong - unfortunately.

This may be true but it's a sad situation.

Such a limited mindset means they're likely to grab more than they can use (just because it's free) and not get any of the real value from the contributors.

In this case the contributors are all fairly successful marketers with a lot to share.

I've already offered my list something I've never offered anywhere ever before and may never again.

To be brutally truthful, if I found out all of the people that grabbed my offer used throwaway emails - I'd be gutted as I've put them in a special area of focus for people I want to help succeed in 2010. To think that they threw that away just to get a free ebook is very disappointing.

Yes I agree Andy it is sad .. But this is what many have been trained to do because of those lame giveaways that had old junk that was given away a million times over...

What I plan on doing is nothing ever seen before but all downloads will be "brand new" "exclusive" and will require no opt-in ... Only I will approve gifts and trust me I do not say something is good just because it has a top marketers name on it either .. There will be a requirement but nothing like you have seen...

It may take off and it may not.. who knows, I am going to do it anyways because it will be fun to watch and run..

After I tested many of these giveaways with brand new high quality gifts and I even paid for upgrade.. I have to say I was very disappointed in what I got in exchange .. And yes I did get the junk emails also as 50% of the emails was no good.

I can see the marketers now - beating down your door for the opportunity to create a brand new product and then put it into a giveaway event where an opt-in isn't required....

I'm sure they will also to be thrilled that you, the person that I've never heard say any product was good...ever, will be nice enough after they have created the product to let them know whether or not they have made it in.

Seriously dude, hire some security because there is no doubt that people will be lining up around the corner to be involved!

As a matter of fact, I'm going to create 10 products in the next 6 months to increase my odds of getting in...

Seriously though, It's a giveaway event. I'm not sure how these things happened back when wheels were wooden and square, but since I've been involved in Internet Marketing, you go to the giveaway site, give up your email for the products you are interested in (hint: you don't have to download them all) then some nice marketer - markets to you

            I know - IT'S CRAZY!

If you are going to go through the trouble of making some fake email address - Just don't participate in the event. While you complain that marketers are sending you emails to market to you (imagine that), you are actually being more dishonest by creating an email account for the purpose of getting a freebie.

If you think that a specific marketer will spam you to death, why the hell would you want to download their product anyway? And if you think the product is valuable, why wouldn't you at least give them your real email and at least give them a shot to do the right thing?

            I don't get it....

It will not be for the IM Niche ... I have given testimonials for many good products, if it's good then it's good .. if it's crap then it's crap.. Course that is just my opinion ..

Once man's junk is another mans treasure. I do not plan on following the crowd though as I never do and never will. I prefer to think out-side the box.

Very interesting to see the discussion & points of view being shared here.

As one of the organisors with fellow Japanster & hamster aficionado Kevin Riley I can
let you know that nobody has paid to have their gift ranked in any particular order.

Any participant can make claim to any spot on the giveaway only via traffic sent
to their unique JV partner link. And, yes it sure does let you know who really can
deliver the goods so to speak.

We tried very hard to vet every participant and gift included, plus also wanted to
give a break to newbie list builders in the IM niche a chance as well to get started.

A tough call and one we're looking at very carefully for round 2 in June/July 2010.

Again, we appreciate the feedback & thoughts here to help us with our future
    planning. Best wishes...

    Cheers

It's always disappointing to hear people complain about giving up their email address like it's gold, when they're getting something of potential value. Quite honestly I'm tired of the whole whiney "free isn't really free" thing. Maybe not, but that's the deal. Take it or leave it, but quit complaining for heaven's sake.
By the way, I remember Dr. Mani writing a few years ago that if someone gives you something for free, it's nice to say thank you. Wonder how many of us ascribe to that novel idea (myself included.)

I just checked this out and downloaded a couple of the products that are specific to what I am doing in my business right now.

Great products too. If these guys are supplying great products for free then why not get on their list, you might get some more valuable info that could save you time and money.

I don't know why people are so afraid to sign up to an e-mail list. Especially if you are genuinely getting something of value. If you don't like it you can simply unsubscribe later on, no big deal.

You can also learn a lot from other marketers simply by being on their list, the way they conduct their business and even find out about some great products that maybe you wouldn't have heard about otherwise.

Great products and info in exchange for an e-mail address doesn't seem unreasonable to me, are you not trying to do this yourself anyway. You are in the business of marketing right?
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[1757622].message }}
  • Actually, I've been signed up for close to 3 weeks, and I have received e-mails from less than 10% of these guys, and I signed up to all of them and devoured the whole lot.

It seems some were generous enough to risk giving for free, in the hope that you would find it useful enough to maybe purchase their products.

Their intentions were never to spam you.

    Jay.

    Hey,

    Holy @#!?*~! Crap!!!!

Moderators, please tell me this thread that none of you saw this ... otherwise, moderation on this forum is a joke, and you're all showing incredible favoritism towards specific members of the forum above others.

    This is insane!

If this giveaway was "presented" by anyone other than Kevin Riley, and wasn't made up a few contributors that happen to be WF members... this thread would have disappeared faster than the doughnuts at a Weight Watchers meeting ...

This is total crap. It's nothing more than a promo link for a giveaway ... even if it's not an "affiliate" link.

At the very least, this should have been immediately moved to the "Reviews" section like any other similar thread would have been ...

I don't want a PM explanation, explain publicly if you're going to explain at all ...

I have a feeling that had this giveaway been run by a "newbie" to the forum, the thread would have been gone ... and by "I have a feeling", I mean, I'm sure of it.

Otherwise we'd have seen hundreds of these "giveaway" threads over the past few years, but surprisingly ... we haven't. We've only seen "giveaway" threads disappear.

So far I've enjoyed reading/using the following items:

      * Kevin Riley's "The Essential Rocket Plan For Online Success"
      * Tim Shank's "Free Article Writing & Marketing Software"
      * Fabian Tan's "Lazy Traffic Blueprints"
      * Jaz Lai's "Inbox Cash Techniques"

So far, I have found these to be quality products, and I look forward to what else I can receive and learn from.

I would recommend this Giveaway 2010 site - good information at a great price: FREE

  • lol, wasn't an affiliate link and no I actually got nothing out of this apart from sharing or letting others know about it... It's no different to someone posting saying here's my report with 5 traffic building tips, go download it.

Only with this there's 54 gifts not 1.

Your complaining that newbies have a thread with a link to 54 gifts they can download and read, why shut a useful thread?

    Jay.

Hey! is this email marketing fading these days
You see most of people will use their MADE FOR ONLY SPAM email address for such giveaways and never look back to the subscription emails
I am a newbie and never tried email marketing but I use My Special Spam only email for these gifts
I think Most people do This...
Then why to waste dollars for list building paying for auto-responders, use some new Internet marketing tactics
Correct me if I am wrong
    Thank You

Giveaways are ok if the products are not, old, re-hashed products ( Andy clears that part-up, of them not being that).

The only problem is major info-overload, people will download all of these products and most won't do much with em. Also, people (some) will use fake email addys to get these gifts, so it's a hit-n-miss, for both the product creators/downloaders.

      Hi Jason,

Just had a look through these and signed up with a clean mail address as you suggested. Whether they end up being useful or not, and despite the usual upsell attempts, wanted to just say THANKS for taking the time and effort to post it here and try to help others out.

      Cheers
      Paul
