How I get 1000+ uniques from Facebook a week (free)

First of all, this technique will not work every time (as advanced Warriors know, that's true of most things). It works about 1/3 of the time for getting massive exposure (50,000+ views) and the rest of the time you'll only get a few thousand. Anyway, onto the good part.

With any niche site I create, I create a facebook page for the site. Do not link this site to your personal account! One, it will make your personal facebook experience rather annoying and two your competitors will know every site that is yours (bad).

Once I have a good profile built, I create a fan page. Here's the trick to it that most people don't do: Most create a fan page for the site, so 'click here to become a fan of examplesite.com'. That just won't work well unless you have a great site (please note I create a fan page for my site, but this is not the main source of traffic from facebook).

I create a fan page for something specific to the niche that is popular within the niche, then as I add posts and videos to the page I link to my original business page. Make sense? I also tag the original page whenever possible.

This might be confusing, so let me give you an example, using golf (since everyone reading this has probably promoted in the golf niche). Instead of creating the 'improveyourswing.com fanpage', I would create a fanpage for 'finally getting a hole in one' or something like that. People are much more likely to become a fan of it, thus making it 'go viral', which gets way more eyes to your business page, and eventually to your website.

So, to clarify: Facebook page for your site, fanpage for your site (just so it's there really), fanpage for 'happy' thing related to your niche. I try to at least post on all 3 pages daily (takes 15-30 minutes) and add two videos a week to the 'happy' fan page. By doing this, and linking to my site and original page, I'm able to get a ton of visitors for free! Great for those who need a break from writing articles :-D Hope it helps someone!

    Hello Sean,

    Thanks for a great idea.
But I didn't got from your post if you had promoted your Facebook fanpage. Or you have created the page and made it interesting?

    Thanks anyway,
    David

Good question, I only promote the fanpage by inviting some of my personal friends that would be interested through the website's page. Remember, never get your personal facebook profile involved. I try to invite at least 10 people each time I'm on, but remember that anytime someone becomes a fan, it is posted on their wall. So most of the work is done for you just by how facebook works. Hope that helps. Oh, I also post videos and random things on the page, which again (depending on the users settings) is posted on their wall.

I do see what you mean. That's a great idea. I never thought of creating fan pages to complement the profile page. Thanks for the tip.

I forgot to mention, every 25 tweets or so I'll link to either the fan page or the main page for a new video. Only downside is that if they aren't on facebook, they probably won't view it. But it does drive more traffic to it.

Not even close to a lot of work really. I use hootsuite and it will automatically post if you put it in the queue. It takes me abotu 2-3 hours to set up 30 days worth of 5-8 messages a day. I put maybe 1 or two links in a day. Some of the messages cross promote between my facebook fan page, my niche specific facebook profile, and my twitter page.

I then add 100 people a day on twitter(takes at most 15 minutes)...this in turn grows my friends, fans, and followers.

I like articleprince's method of making a fan page for something the buyers will want instead of jsut the website alone. I am definitely going to put this in my strategy.

OK, I admit: I am only at my first coffee this morning... which means not fully functional.

How do you create a page without being linked to your personal account/site?

When you go to Facebook, sign out if you have to. There will be the regular sign up form, but under that it'll say 'create a page for blah blah blah'. Do that one. I think I attached an image that should help

Thanks for that Sean. I'm almost ashamed to admit I have done absolutely SQUAT with facebook, other than share pics with family! lol Maybe I should give it a try. Can't hurt, costs nothing, only takes a few minutes.

im on it is there a limit to how many fan pages you can create as we all are in multiple niches?

Can the same system apply to facebook groups as oppposed to fan pages.

It doesn't matter if there's a limit, you'll create a new account for each niche. Remember, who is going to look at your golf page if your main site is for acne? It's a pain until you get the right tools, but it pays off huge. Glad I finally helped here, thanks! Also, you can create groups but it is more complicated and not nearly as effective (in my experience)

This sounds really good, I might just give it a go.

But to be clear, you are getting most of your fans from either word-of-mouth (through appearing on the wall of other fans) or by Twitter?

You also mention inviting people. Is this inviting friends who are not yet fans? Or are you inviting people some other way?

Am I missing other ways you are getting fans? Sorry for all the questions, but I think I am missing something there.

I can see myself using these tips to help promote a Facebook profile I created for a local hotel's web marketing efforts. So far I haven't been able to figure out how to get people to become a fan of this particular hotel (since it's a specific franchise, and not the entire chain). But creating a fan page for something related to this hotel will probably work a lot better. Thanks Sean!

Create a fan page for 'actually sleeping through the night in a hotel'. The traffic won't be super targeted, but you'll get a lot of eyes when you post something for the hotel.

@Rupps I get most of my fans from the page going viral, like if I make a fan page for 'not having a migraine for a week', anyone who sees that their friend has joined that group will probably join it too if they have a migraine. Make sense?

Hahahaha... Great idea! Although, even though this hotel has new Serta pillow-top mattresses, it's rare that the guests sleep all through the night. It's not sound-proofed all that well. But I see your point. Could maybe do something like fans of "hotels with free continental breakfast"? I don't know... But I definitely will be thinking about this tomorrow.

The more you have the easier it is to get more, but the first 100 can be tough. Make sure you have a facebook link on your site, then just invite people from similar groups. Hope that helps :-)
