Hello everyone...

I'm getting ready to launch my baby massage DVD/download but only have a temporary website that I put up in 20mins on my domain, I'm having my site built working closely with a SEO specialist which should be ready in about 4 weeks, while I polish off the post production, voiceover, artwork etc on the actual product.

I've been absorbing all the IM info I can, I have joined here and the Silent Team, have read what feels like a million posts, ebooks, and signed up for god knows how many free reports and newsletters - which have all led to my basic undertanding of how to get traffic to my site. I have had a couple of articles written and a PR person to help me submit articles, press releases and follow up for interviews etc. I have a SEO person testing keywords and phrases for a PPC campaign. I have emailed a few big baby sites with a view to JV and have registered with clickbank, aweber, facebook and twitter in anticipaton! (I already run FB and twitter and blog at mumandworking but will open new accounts for this one).

So what can I do now? While I am waiting I have 4 weeks to kill, could anyone give me some tips on generating interest, maybe doing some list building, free report maybe - but is this possible without the proper website being up and running?

Any tips would be greatfully received.

Thanks

HelenP

    Hi Helen,

List building seems like a good plan while you are waiting to launch. Create a report and a squeeze page (ask your web guy to upload it to your host, it will only take them 2 minutes). Then drive some traffic to it, maybe by posting in baby related forums. I find that the people in non IM forums are much more willing to opt-in to free reports that us cynical marketers. Good luck with the launch. BTW, local newspapers (Stockport Times?) are always looking for stories so maybe drop them a line and make sure that the squeeze page is included in the article!

    Regards

    HelenP,
Great work...and we can all sense your enthusiasm.

I did see something and had a question:
I have a SEO person testing keywords and phrases for a PPC campaign.
Did you type that backwards or is that actually the case?

The PPC guy should be testing keywords for an SEO campaign...is that what you meant?

Are you working on building affiliates and focusing on ways to drive traffic to your product? Start contacting super affiliates and brief them on what you have to offer. If you can get 1-5 affiliates when you launch you can gaurantee at least a few sales.

Good luck with your launch. A squeeze page while you wait for your main site is the way to go, so I second that advice. Start building that list now.

Again, best of luck, BUT do babies really need massages? All they do is eat and poop.
