Default New to online marketing

I'm a full time student looking for ways to pay the bills. I recently came back from an internship and now i'm officially unemployed. I just started with USANA and i'm looking for the best ways to build my business. I will probably be getting a part-time job to cover me until I can get a consistent stream of income. I have read up on a few different ways to spread the word, but I wanted to ask the question in a discussion, rather than only look at the sales pages that i've seen.

So the question is, with limited time what are the best area's to focus my energy on?

Check out my awesome training here
Check out my opportunity here

You got a ways to go. Start off by reading an ebook - there are several thousands of them out there. Go to ClickBank and search for a good one.

Usana is an MLM - you have to be skilled in selling in order to be successful at that. So pick up a sales book as well and practice selling

I hate to have to tell you this but you will not replace your income or make a living from the internet anytime real soon. It will take time, patience, persistence, and an attitude that you WILL succeed no matter how long, how hard, and how much you have to work at it.

That it's not a question of IF but WHEN you will succeed.

Internet success is no picnic. It will not happen overnight.

If you need money quickly your best bet is to get a part-time job as a burger flipper or whatever you can find. Sweep offices. Do some window cleaning if you have to. Whatever it takes without being dishonest or scamming anyone.

Do internet marketing on the side at nights. You may even have to give up some sleep once in a while.

I've been able to invest a huge amount of time into my internet marketing efforts in the last few months because I worked out a deal with someone to help them with computer related stuff they needed help with in exchange for the rent at a rate of $25 per hour. So my rent is covered and I don't have to work like a slave to have my rent "paid" for.

Someone here is graciously offering $100 to internet marketing newbies. You might want to look up that thread here too and ask them if you qualify. That would at least cover your hosting and perhaps a membership to the Warrior Forum War Room where you could hob nob with the best members here and possibly receive valuable input.

Oh...and I would seriously suggest you drop USANA like a hot potato. I was once involved with USANA myself. Great on promises but, like with most MLM companies, the truth is that 99% of those who get into MLM never make enough to make it worthwhile, .005% make a few thousand at it, and .005% ever make it to the top. Those figures may not be entirely accurate but that's roughly about right.

Get away from MLM as fast as you can and stick to tried and true internet marketing principles on how to make a living online that don't involve gimmicks, tricks, and other shenanigens.

Offering true value to a market need.

Spend time boning up on the basics. What is a web site. How do you build one. What is an autoresponder. What is a mailing list. What is an affiliate program. Etc. Educate yourself. Lots of free info on this forum and on the internet. No need to pay anyone for it if you don't have much of any money.

Just my two cents and my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

The easiest way to start is to always keep focus on the visitor/customer. It's never about you.

If you want to generate income. Figure out what people want, where they go to get it, then make them a better offer.

If you want to get going I'd suggest joining HubPages or Sqidoo and do a little writing. Hubpages offers very easy integration of Adsense, Kontera, eBay and Amazon. No cost. The Catch is they keep 40% of the traffic you generate.

You may also want to consider using Blogger as an Adsense Platform.

Once you have some idea of what works and what doesn't you'll want to write highly targeted articles based on products you have researched. Use article directories to leverage your efforts.

Then you can go from there.

If your looking to make a quick buck then IM is not for you and will not work for you, but if you are looking to learn and implement this learning over the course of the next 1-2 years and build a profitable business - then yes with time IM wil pay your bills.

Don't buy any ebooks. Join the war room and it will pay for itself in about 10 minutes.

Just about everything you really need is here in the Warrior Forum and joining the war room would really help you alot also. If you want to really get more of a step by step approach there are some really good wsos that you can also get here from some trusted writers.

If i was you i would just take a bunch of notes and keep reading, absorbing, and asking more questions here on the forum.

I had to go out and buy a notebook just to use for my printouts from this forum. And I've still only touched the surface. Next month I am definitely buying a war room membership after hearing all the glowing praise about it from other members.

Internet marketing takes some time to master. You won't make much money in the beginning. I suggest getting a "real" job and do your internet business on the side until you can off your online business. I did this while attending graduate school 15 years ago and have been living off the web ever since.

FREE URL Submission to 44 Search Engines!
We also offer web directory submission to 4,000+
directories for as little as 10 cents a directory.

The War Room is so damn awesome, I've already come across several business models suitable for people with a limited amount of time.

I keep hearing that the War Room is so great and maybe it is but from where I am standing I don't understand how it would be any different than what one gets in the general forum area. I learn lots of good ideas, I get valuable input, I discuss internet marketing ideas with others, learn about SEO, and all things internet marketing in the general and free forum areas.

What is so special or different about the War Room? Just curious.

The reason I am asking is that most newbie marketers don't have much money to afford things like the War Room so unless there is some overwhelming benefit to spending the money on joining the War Room I am not sure that's a good thing for someone who doesn't have much money, to do.

I would seem that they would be better off reading far and wide over the internet, educating themselves through freely available information, and spending their limited funds on things like hosting, domain registration, and other essentials.
