Who here thinks Email Marketing and List Building is the way to go?

Hey everyone,

How many of you think that email marketing and list building are important? If you could learn more about it, or have a proven "how to" system offered to you would that be something of interest?

I know there are a lot of marketers who don't bother with list building or email marketing. They just let their customers go on by and never try to capture their information. They seem to think the one time sale is enough I guess.

I think that learning to build a list and market to it continuously is the way to go and is probably the most important component in building your business. What do you think?

Without question, it's a huge part of this business. Actually, it's the backbone of IM. No matter what fads hit the business, list building and email marketing will never go out of style.

Think about it. You've got a BIG batch of traffic coming to you with one click of a button.

However, that doesn't mean that every single niche needs a list. You need to be able to have a niche where you can keep offering new information. With some niches, that's just not applicable.

I agree! Although I don't see any real good "how to" guides about this. As a matter of fact, a lot of people don't think or don't realize how important it is.

With my experience I could say that list building is the way to build a business online. I have seen marketers who create products only focusing on their lists. But the fact remains mystery as how to build a list fast enough. The traditional way of offering some service or gift to build a list is very slow that it would take years to make a big list.

It seems big names are using techniques like List swaps. But if we are starters nobody will be willing to do that favor for us.

        Time unravels the secrets...

I am a firm believer in that ideology.

Your subscribers can be a potential goldmine but it boils down to how to treat them.

No question and not just with Internet Marketing, I think every business on and offline should be capturing customers information to sell to again and again.

I actualy have one customer who bought my very first product and has since spent a further $3,500 on other products and services I offer. Now just imagine if I didn't bother to capture his information from the start I would only have made the inital $47 from this one customer and no more...

    Need I say more

I agree 100% with Steve. Keeping a long term customers is always cheaper than acquiring new ones, whether you're online or offline.

I have even come across courses that promote the sale of a really inexpensive products just to sort out buyers and tire kickers. Once they spend money with you and trust you, they will often purchase from you over and over again.

So does anyone think there are a lot of people out there that maybe need to learn the value of having a list and marketing to them? Do you think there are a lot of people who just don't know how or where to start?

Also, do you think there needs to be more "how to" books on this subject? (Sorry for the extra post)

Email marketing should be a very important part in your business. Any page that you create, you want to give your visitors an opportunity to subscribe.

You want to do that because the old saying is still true:

The fortune is in the follow up.

The Money is in the List. I don't care what anyone says, if you are serious about Internet Marketing and you don't have a list then your in the wrong industry.

scrofford, I get that you're fishing for the green light to put out a product about this, so I'll answer you directly. Yes, it will sell. There are lots of them out there, but that in and of itself is your indication that it resonates and sells. Just put your own USP on it and give her a whirl.
