20 dollars - what to do?

Right now i have 20 dollars on my paypal account (not credit card). I need to host website and buy domain for 20 dollars. I have two thoughts - find cheap hosting for 5 dollars or less in a month and buy domain for 10 dollars. So i will only have two months to make the web profitable, or i fail. The second idea is to buy domain and get free hosting, but i am not sure about this idea too, because free hosting simply s*cks .

What would you do if you were in my situation? Thanks.

I'd get a one month trial at Hostgator for $0.01c using code "404PAGE" and register a domain at Namecheap for $9.69 ... Still leaves you $10 ;-)

This is the correct thing to do.

Go to dynadot.com you can get your domain name for 8.99 for the year sign up for the free hosting account as mentioned above once you have that change the info on the dynadot account to point to the new host if you need help with that I will help you.

I am fan of a free traffic, like google

Starting from nothing is good because there's more pressure (not in a bad way) to start getting income in a shorter amount of time. It can get tricky though, because free traffic comes from a time commitment. It would seem that time is something you won't have a lot of to start with.

Things can be achieved a lot quicker by investing money, but on the other hand, it's good to be willing to get your hands dirty e.g. writing your own articles and submitting them to article directories yourself. Writing and designing your own products, website, etc. Personally I find the majority of such tasks enjoyable. If you enjoy IM then you are sorted.

Send me a PM with your PayPal info. I will send you enough to get 1 year hosting at Bluehost or Hostmonster. You'll get it on Monday.

    The only catch? SUCCEED.

    I await your PM...

  • Free hosting service is bad but for now, it should still work. When your $20 start to grow, then immigrate to the proper. Agree?

If you are serious in making decent living online, then you should not be scared to spend $20-$30 on hosting your domain each and every month.

I see so many people online who don't want to spend any money or very little money and expect to make a lucrative income. It does not work that way in my view.

You have got to spend money to make money and you will need to invest in materials that will help you achieve success online.

Don't let anyone tell you that you will not have to spend any money or very little money and get a nice return on it.

I would keep it all. I then focus only to make money from any free affiliate opportunities that use PayPal to recieve the commision. That's what I would do for sure.

    What would I do?

I would sign-up for a free wordpress blog.
I would find 5 long tail keywords for free.
I would then write 5 articles myself revolving around those 5 keywords, also free.
I would sign-up for a clickbank account and put a few affiliate links within each article.
I would then post 50 backlinks to each article from web 2.0 sites, also free.

This should make you a couple of hundred bucks, if not more if you do it right. Now you have enough money to buy a domain and get decent hosting for the rest of the year.

I would go get a job and try to save up several hundred dollars.

Apart from a lemonade stand, would you start a legal business offline with $20?

You might still be able to use the GoDaddy code BOWL2010 to get a .com domain for just 99 cents. Point the domain name to a free blog or take up gzinic on his offer of some free website space (which would be better than a free blog somewhere).

Lett, you're really lucky that a generous warrior here (usuallyclueless) has volunteered to give you one year of hosting at bluehost...don't let it go to waste, and get to work right away! Your only upfront cost now is a domain name, at about $10 or so...so keep the remainder in your pocket and save it up for other things like graphics and/or tools once you start earning money with your site.

I don't agree with the fact that you can't make money without investing a lot of money - investing in a domain and hosting could be a great start.

The real challenge is to be able to use all of the wonderful free information that's all around you without becoming overwhelmed. You'll need to choose a strategy - this could be a completely free strategy, it could involve your own domain/ hosting - and really take action. Without that your $20 will be wasted.
