Social Bookmarking Dilemma

Hi folks,

Quick question...

When it comes to adopting a social bookmarking strategy, would it be better to initially have multiple accounts accross fewer bookmarking sites or to have fewer accounts accross lots of social bookmarking sites.

Obviously having many accounts accross many sites is the ideal, just wondering what people thought the best compromise might be in the short term.

Thanks for your input

Cheers

Mark

Good question and very savvy riesponses.

My suggestion is to add some variety to your linking approach with a few blogs. What I've found is that creating a couple or so blogger blogs a week with short posts each day can make a difference.

It's easier than writing articles and only slightly more work than knocking out a half dozen or so tweets a day, once the blog is up and running. Not many have figured this out but it definitely works.

Only Wire is a decent tool for automated submissions, but like was suggested above they will all be the same title - if you want slightly less automation and more control over titles then "Social Marker" is a good middle ground

Here's one way to get as close to that as possible.

    Outsource your web 2.0 marketing.
It can be done very cheap.
    I've had it done for $4.00 P/H.

    Here's how I do it.

I set up all the articles, image and text links so all they have to do is copy and paste.
Give them a set of keywords you want used as usernames, titles, etc.

Give as explicit instructions as possible.
Example: post one article per day and ping it. Bookmark each page. I provide a bookmarking tool and article submitter for them to use.

I give them a list of web 2.0 sites to use.
    Squidoo
    Hubpages
    Weebly
    Wetpaint
    Wordpress.com
    Blogger
    etc.

With a third party creating the accounts they are not connected to you.
    Google tracks the IP addresses.
Duplicate content is not as big an issue as previously thought.
Consider: Ezinearticles exists for the sole purpose of providing content for many sites.

If this is a concern, outsource the re-writing of the articles.

I've had 10 sites created for less than $20.
So, for every 10 sites I create, for less than $20 I double that.

Here's an overview of the linking structure.

    Hope this helps.

    All good stuff!

My approach is to use one account per market so my fitness bookmarks don't get combined with my how to dominate social bookmarks sites.

Having said that within the one account I first bookmark my main target site, I'll then bookmark my other web 2.0 properties, videos, articles etc, finally I bookmark other popular sites in the niche from the same account. Provides a nice looking set of links.

And I pay someone else to do this because I don't have the time.

It depends on the bookmarking site. Some have more strict moderation so you need to be more careful with your links. That means it's better to create different accounts in order not to loose everything you've done there.
Others are not so scary and it's better to improve one account for everything.
