WF Search Button - Your Most Powerful Tool, Use it!

That's right, the Search Button tool on the WF is priceless. Use it, because 9 times out of 10, you will find an answer to your question.

So often you see new threads asking the same questions over and over again. Just a simple run of the search button will save everyone's time.

If you can't find the answer to your question after a few attempts by searching the WF, then by all means, go ahead and start a new thread.

For any of the newer members....I personally search my term in quotes (e.g. "social bookmarking strategy"), then first select the Search entire posts, then if no luck, Search Titles Only. It's that simple.

If there's any other ways some of you guys search, go ahead and share it.

Hopefully this helps a few warriors out there.

Cheers.

You can also specify which subforum you use. I find that helps me prune results rather quickly, since some searches will turn out with hundreds of results instead of the one thread I'm thinking of.

Yes, this is especially useful for any newbies, as when you ask a question which has been asked a million times already you wont get a good range of replies.

IMHO This is the formula for a dead forum.

You are so right, George, because if people substitute the Search button for actual forum posting and participation then the forum can't grow. Topics of discussion aren't static, they evolve, mutate and change as the circumstances around them change. This is not like reading a book, where everything is set in stone and immutable.
