Is forum signature really useful for promoting products? Do you use forum signature to promote products or just for the purpose of link building? How many products have you sold through forum signature? Excuse me for asking so many questions in one time.

It's against the forum rules to put affiliate links in your signature. If you want to use your sig to sell affiliate products you need to create a website and put the links on your website. Hope that helps. |

I think that if you're referring to other forums, it can, but it's better to drive people to a preselling page, like an article where you talk about the product, and then sell them from there. However, even if you do it the other way, it works. I put my WSOs in my sig and I've had 4 sales on that for a WSO that's been hidden for 2 months. And like rosetrees said, it's against the rules here, but it would work in most other niche forums out there. |

| There are other forums which allow pepople to use affiliate links as their signagure. Is that really useful? I ask that because I'm new to the affiliate marketing. The way I mainly use now is article marketing. And I'm sure it works because I've already made some sales of it.PPC is too expensive to me, so I haven't use it so far.I'm just wondering that whether signature is useful. Thanks for your help.

No affiliate links in your signature, but of course, if you are promoting your own products or your own sites, and the offer looks interesting, people are going to take a peek.

I think it's not a good idea to promove affiliate links through your signature, but some products/services you have advertised on this forum.

I personally don't use Signatures to promote direct linking, It just doesn't sit well with moderators...besides, it's better to have a landing page or presell page before you sell a product anyway. They absolutely do work depending on the forums traffic, and they do drive sales and leads - consistently |

sig links work 100%.. I use them in DP to promote my membership and get messages each week... saying I clicked your sig link in DP and followed the instructions etc... and these people contacting me ... there is probably a lot more traffic coming from it.

I've been selling a product of mine for almost 10 years now using nothing but forum signatures to generate the traffic, so it definitely does work. Be sure to read the forum's rules before posting it, however, as it is frowned upon in many places. To get people to really pay attention to the sig, though, you really need to make a lot of useful posts, setting yourself up as a sort of expert on your particular topic.

Hey Darni, To answer your question, yes, signatures on forums are a useful strategy for promoting affiliate products. Not only that but you can promote just about any website in your signature as long as you abide by forum rules. Different forums have different rules applying to signatures so it's best to read the forums' guidelines before promoting anything. I've generated many leads and sales through my signatures alone. I know this because I have done several promotions of different products just through forum signatures. Best of luck. |

forum sigs are good but I would have them going to one of your websites and not direct linking, most forums won't allow affiliate links in sigs. It's a great way to get started in IM Regards Dave |

You can bet your sweet life that a legitimate signature in this forum is more valuable than one placed in many others. IMHO. I am assuming of course, that your product is relevant to this forum - if not, just ignore my post - you won't be the first ![]() Jeff.

(In this forum I don't do that because I use my real name here and I don't disclose my niches). Indirectly, many. To people who have clicked on my link, gone to one of my websites, and from there to a Clickbank sales page. I wouldn't try it by "direct-linking", though (with an affiliate-link actually in a sig-file), because I think it would be very hard indeed to make any sales that way, just as it is with article marketing - and I wouldn't be able to build a list, either. (And in this forum affiliate-links are not allowed in sig-files, anyway).

They work in niche forums. When I started out, I made quite a few sales with them. I'm not too sure about the IM niche though.

But otherwise forum marketing can be *substantial*. It really depends on your activity and reputation also.

I absolutely agree with just two comments in this thread. Everything you do should be designed to build a list. Once you have there details, you can pass them onto your offer. I'd use a rotate script to drive people to different offers, and drop the ones that don't convert. HTH Glenn |

I like posting on forums but I keep getting banned for having a link in my signature. Not even an affiliate link? Hard to find forums that allow links that point outside the forum.

Forum signatures work, but... They work best when you contribute quality content to the forum. If anyone thinks they are going post "me too" and "I agree" and "thank you" posts and drive traffic to their site, well, they're likely going to be disappointed. I don't even look at signatures until I've seen enough posts by someone that I associate them with being a contributor of quality comments to the forum. |

I think it is not allowed to place affiliate links in promoting affiliate products. Blog articles where more useful I guess
