Default Product Launch Question

Hello All,

I am almost done with my ebook, it is very detailed with step by step screen shots of what to do. I wan wondering if it is recommended to do videos that explain the system also? Will offering videos increase the value of the overall product, even if they are basically the same thing?

Thanks,
Ray

Videos will definitely increase the value...but you could always use the videos as a OTO after purchase as well.

Make sure that you have given some thought into how you will protect your product. Videos surely will help, but make sure that you have protected the ebook and the accompanying videos or you see them on every warez and "sharing" site out there.

Good luck with the launch.

Agreed, OTO or included in the product, but make sure the videos are good quality or it could devalue your product as a whole. Also, most people want to be able to download the videos vs. online viewing. Keep in mind that videos increase the size of the file which means additional bandwidth and bandwidth costs you money. You want to make money, so don't spend more (on videos) than you will make.

Yup offer your product as a video to as a OTO or even better load up the videos and PDF information on to a CD and offer that as an OTO as well.

Sure it increases the perceived value,

You can offer screenshots in the form of checklist they need to do in order to put things to action

you can do videos, make them mp4 downloadable for ipod

Make an mp3 downloadable (audio book)for those who want to listen

Different people learn via different means, some prefer books, some audio, some video
By providing the same course in multiple formats you cover a wide range of audience
and you justify their buying decision by adding more value.

And the best part is, you can do it all by a few clicks and settings in camtasia!

All the best for your launch

All of the above are sound suggestions. If this is your first product try to keep the costs down, so you don't go into the red. Once you have made some money - you could create other forms of delivery. Just don't go overboard.. you could ask for feedback from your customers and if there is enough response from them for a particular media then think about creating it as an upsale.

Word of advise - Some people start a WSO with their first product - promise "more" - and can't deliver. Makes for a poor reputation out the gate.

Try to create both... eBook and Video. That way your customers can choose and you will get the most out of your product.

Offering videos will increase the value if they are good videos. I sell a lot of video courses and lately I provide a pdf transcript for those that like to read. Keeps everybody happy.

Thank you all very much for your feedback, this forum is incredibly helpful. I think that I am going to make some video's and offer them as an OTO.

I've toyed with the idea of sending a physical, tangible product to people's houses as an upsell. Downloading PDFs, audios and videos all in one is great, but what if people could watch your quality on DVD or BluRay - in HD, no less!

In all that you do, know your True INTENT...

Ray,

videos have higher perceived value then
ebooks and audio books. You should either
create a video version and offer the ebook
as a bonus, or maybe you should
sell the ebook and offer videos as an upsell.

Trust me when I say that your subscribers will love the video more rather than the stpe by step ebook.

Do that, and offer that instead.

keep the ebook to the how-to and stuffs like that. Use the video to show the steps needed to take the action.

I agree that videos are best offered as an OTO. But beware of bandwidth and don't host videos on a shared server.

I'd suggest looking at something like Amazon S3.

Something that I always think is a nice touch is the ability to upload the product videos to my iPod... I'm almost always willing to pay a premium price for that. The OTO offer for the videos is a great idea!

Product Creator is right about bandwidth... checkout:

From my experiences, it's a good salesfunnel to offer ebook first then video as upsell. You should sell the ebook for cheap ($12) and then ur video version can be $97 or something.

The cool thing is that u will get a massive conversion from this simple funnel.

This worked well in a fitness launch that I managed for a client...

Being as I do a little of each videos are a very effective tool and a great way to build up momentum towards your E Book, just make sure the product is worth the price charged or your credibillity is toast.
