#1 Mass reading about success here and chosen a path (many small sites) CHECK

#2 Keyword research to find out if there is any demand at all CHECK

#3 Taken the plunge with my first site (of many) CHECK

#4 Oh crap... I have to come up with 3-5 articles on my item for my site, however...I am having writers block, I can tell people about the pretty colours, the weight and the price but then that is as far as I ever get...about 100 words! lol

Don't really want to plagarise an entire topic elsewhere even if I do change it...and I still have about 2100-2500 words to go

Does anyone have any tips on getting inspiration and how to structure such a thing?

(outsourcing is not an option since I am effectively broke until I start getting a stream of money into paypal from online since I cant seem to get it to recognise my bank)

At EzineArticles sign in to your "Author's Area" then look at the top navigation for "Author Resources" and open that drop down menu.

Near the bottom you will see "EzineArticles Training". Click that and look at the bottom section "Article Writing - Content Sources and Article Templates".

You will find four Article Templates that talk about four different styles of articles.

You can take one article and rewrite it to fit those four styles.

That should give you five articles.

I also use keyword research to guide me. Sometimes it comes up with ideas I'd never have thought of before. It all depends on what kind of niche you're in, but usually there are more topics to write about than you might have imagined.

For example, if you're writing reviews of products -
    * you can write the general reviews,
    * you could do a list of different uses for that product,
    * you could do a guide to searching for the best brand of that product,
    * you could do a guide to buying it new vs. second hand,
    * you could review the places that sell that product,
    * you could write about the history and development of the product,
    * compare the product to similar products...

These are just off the top of my head, but I hope they help!

Just look for other people who have written articles in your niche - if your niche is "weight loss pills" then just type that into google, or things like "how to ___" "how do ____s work?" Then read other peoples articles to see how they write and what they say - especially the articles near the top of the search engines.

Don't copy just one but read 10 and develop your own style from that. Don't plagarize - benhmark then innovate

I figure out what the person searching the keyword would be looking for, then make a rough outline of what every 100 words or so will be about. Writing 100 words is easier than writing 500 words, so I essentially trick myself into writing 500 words. I'm too crafty for myself that way ;-)

Go to sites like digg and reddit and see what has done well in your niche. I do it all the time.

I often stare at a blank screen so what I do is I just start writing as if I was talking to myself. It doesn't matter if it is rubbish. You just need to clean out the ring rust and keep going until the words start flowing.

One of the ways I get inspiration is to scroll through my MSN contact list, see who's online that might be interested in the topic or niche I want to write about and start chatting.

It's a great way to stimulate your mind and get fresh ideas.

One of the ways I get ideas is to use the Wonder Wheel at Google. When you put in your topic use the other options and scroll down to the Wonder Wheel. You will see a visual wheel of your topic with related topics surrounding it. This helps get my mind going in slightly different directions.

If all else fails I take a break from the writing task and come back to it later. But as someone else suggested, if you break it down into paragraphs, or 100 word blocks of information, the job gets much easier.

Write questions that people would ask about your topic and then answer them. It is a nice format and once you have the questions it's quite easy to "pad" out the answers.

        See above. Good points Courtney.

Answering questions is very powerful because you are in effect overcoming readers' objectives.

Articles IMO are about ofering solutions based on the nenefits of your products.

        As for structure...

        Introduce the problem

Offer a tips or step by step solution (this is cool because it makes you list steps)

Summarize and end on a positive note.

        Hope this helps

        Sal

PS: another great way is to create a list of topics and just talk about them. Get the recording transcribed and go from there.

Thanks guys, I have got the first one done, I will probably go down the question and answer route to make a rudimentary FAQ for the 2nd, and the 3rd will probably be the tech specs...
