Best Email Marketing Software?

I am looking for a piece of software to automate our monthly newsletter. But I've come across a few companies offering bulk email software but can't decide which one is the best. Any suggestions?

    (1) Are you looking for a autoresponder type of software that you can host yourself for sending out pre-written newsletter?

    Are any of the software your looking at free? If your web host has you setup on cpanel you can easily create a mailing list that allows you to send out your emails to all email addresses you add to the mailer.

    You need to make sure you set the settings correct to prevent members the ability to send mail to other members. A simple way is to put on emergency moderation so nothing gets sent without your approval. Then you just email your newsletter to the list email addy and approve and it gets sent out.

    We use OEM rather than going with standard Aweber - it is up to you to register for spamcan feedback to the various mail providers, but it is only a few $100 setup and then all mail-outs are free, I just cringe at the thought of having to pay to mail my list - especially so as it grows and grows.
