Is there any sort of IM ethics pledge out there, or do i have to start something new?

For all the IMers who are appalled by the cheaters and spammers... appalled by bogus screenshots, fake testimonials, and deceptive copycat sites/emails (like a fake download.com or fake email from Microsoft). For all the IMers who want to avoid doing business with the snakes.

Anyone with me?

I pledge to sell you what ever you will buy for the greatest amount you will pay for it.

    How's that?

Am I scamming or cheating you?

Would love to know what you think.

Are you serious? That's not a scam, that's bread and butter capitalism

This is definitely ok as long as you actually deliver it through the correct channel.

      How does this sound?

Spammers most of the time sell what the buyer want (blue pills as an obvious example) but reach him through the wrong channel.

They satisfy ONE person's need and disturb 100 000 others.

Do whatever you would be comfortable with if you were on the other side. I think this is a good rule of thumb

I would like to know the difference between

your scamming him or your cheating him ? are not they the same thing ? if so id say it's a deliberate play to confuse your customer. you first have asked him not only to buy your product but in the same line you have asked him to also price / sell it at his maximum expense level.

you then confuse that with murmurings of confused words with the same meaning, so yes your cheating him and id call that a scam.

That's not true. If you had rights to a product that you KNEW didn't work, either because it was crap or purposely designed to fail, (Yes, there are those floating around), I highly suspect you wouldn't even give it away let alone sell it at any price. (Unless I misread your character)

There is the Online Council of Business Professionals, otherwise known as i-cop. It's not for marketers per se, but for anyone with an online business that wants to display the i-cop badge and is willing to pledge to their code of ethics.

Here's the site: Accredited Online Businesses: iCopâ„¢ = Online Business Ethics

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Thanks for sharing the tip! I've never heard of them or noticed their badge anywhere.

    ROTFLMFAO!

    Sorry.

    Who's gonna police that?

There's "Honest eOnline" (or something like that) and a few others out there, all of which I take with a rather liberal grain of salt, frankly.

And that little [BBB] logo... don't make me laugh.
