Article Marketing + Direct Linking = ...?

I've noticed that several top "authors" in my niche who have individual articles with over 1,000,000 views have many (or all) of their articles directly hopping to the vendor's page (through a redirect of course, if using EZA).

I know someone with that volume of traffic has to be making some money but I'd be curious as to what Warriors here thought of this method/model?

If you are able to press the right emotional buttons so that the reader comes to the resource box even more desperate for a solution to their problems, then all you need is a direct link to the vendor's page.

I write the article first, then decide whether to send them to the vendor or my own landing page. It all depends on how good a job I did on the article and the niche I'm writing in.

    • Agreed. Although as an article marketer myself, I would never use my author's resource box on links to someone else's site - no matter how good my article was. Why spend the time, money, and energy generating backlinks to a vendor's site (or wasting those backlinks with redirects)?

I submit my articles to EZA and I use this method myself ''redirecting links to the vendor's page'' and I don't see any problem with that. My website has been on the first page of Google for more than 3 months now.

If it's a niche I care about and want to be in, I send them to a landing page. If it's one I'm not into, just a simple redirect.

I remember a guy on Wealthy Affiliate (where I got my start) who claimed when I talked to him that he was on his 4th month of IM and going to make about $9,000 for the month. He told me he did it by writing 10 articles every day and spending whatever was left of this 10-14 hours work day backlinking them. He also told me that he used direct linking, simply moving on to a new niche when his keywords were exhausted.

It's something to think about, at least.
