Sorting through the plethora of Online Payment Systems
There are so many Online Payment Systems out there it can make your head spin! I currently use 2Checkout.com (2CO), but I am very unhappy (downright disappointed) with their set up as it pertains to Micro-Continuity Internet sites. You have to manipulate the system to enable it to give your customers any so-called free trial period - and the period can only last 1 week (what they call initial subscription period)! Their system is simply not setup for free customer trials - even though they offer recurrent payments.
As an individual living outside the US (and there is considerable red tape for anyone in this country who wants to operate a US bank account), I liked 2CO initially for its international merchant account services. In addition, the fees were reasonable (i.e. a $49.00 one time sign up fee for a vendor account, and then a 5.5% commission on each sale transaction (including a small sales charge)). But their organization for web sites offering micro-continuity options is not good!
Can anyone suggest any other Online Payment Systems offering International Merchant Account services and reasonable vendor fees (as opposed to exorbitant monthly maintenance charges) - like 2CO, but better organized for recurrent payment systems that would allow for 2 week, 1 month free trials for prospective customers? I can't use PayPal or 1ShoppingCart in this country
