Are there "typical" objections?

Hi,

I'm getting ready to test a new product out on one of my lists and am working on some video for it.

What I want to do is immediately deal with any objections that people might have to the purchase.

The product won't be IM or IM related, but more in the self help/personal development area.

So I was wondering, and I thought it might be valuable to others -

Are there "typical" objections that are seen over and over?

I would imagine price is one. Maybe something related to USP and "difference" of the product to other similar things, but - I'm having a really hard time brainstorming about this and thought I'd ask people with lots of experience.

P.S. - I know I should survey the list, but I'm avoiding that right now because I am not really sure the best way to do it for finding objections without creating them.

You're right -- price is one of the main objections along with the USP stuff you mentioned. Other possibilities:

Can I get my money back if it doesn't work for me?

How fast will I get it?

Is it hard for a non-techy to access the information? (e.g., some people in non-IM markets are not familiar with things like zip files, etc)

Can I trust this person? // Is this seller for real?

Why is this person qualified to teach this stuff?

    Will it work for me?

    Has it worked for others?

    What's the proof?

Is this real or is it just "woo woo" stuff?

    Why is it so expensive?

    Why is it so cheap?

    Is my CC information safe?

Will this person spam me or share my personal info?

Why is this product so short?

Why is this product so long?

    I don't believe you. I don't believe you. I don't believe you. I don't believe you. Oh, and I don't believe you.

Yeah, that last one is one of the MAIN objections. No matter what you're selling or how much your prospect wants it, he probably doesn't believe you.

    cheers,
    Becky

Risk would be a huge objection. Offering a Money-Back Guarantee helps to eliminate this.
