My Thoughts: Does Paying It Forward Work?

I have never really experienced how "Paying It Forward" works until quite
recently. Because of the posts and threads that say paying it forward is
giving more value even if it costs you something right now and it'll be
better in the long run, I just thought it's a good concept.

Some time back, Albert Hallado (also a Warrior here) had an offer and he
gave away a minisite template which include the PSDs for editing via
Photoshop. I thought it was a good deal so I got it and played around
with it.

I thought that was the end of it. I'l just be like another freebie user and
just take advantage of free stuff.

A few weeks after that and into my own campaign to learn more about
Internet Marketing, I realise that I might need to have my own minisite
and guess what? The first person I think of is Albert Hallado.

So, I think paying it forward does work. When you provide real value to
real people and you're not expecting to get anything back from them,
you'll get good reciprocation. Either in terms of value or money. Albert
is literally giving away his template via download link. No signup to a
newsletter, no sales, nothing. Just a download link.

To Albert: Although I still can't make a purchase from you because I'm
still a new (read broke) internet marketer, I think you made a right
choice to give first instead of asking for a payment straight.

If anyone wants to get his free template, it's available at his blog. Here's
the link:

Paying it forward really does work. I can't explain exactly how it works, but it does work.

I think it's just how we're built as humans. While there are people who
want to get, get, get, when we come across people who are give, give,
give, we think of them when we have a need that they freely gave in
      the first place.

After reading the "Master Key System" by Charles F Haanel, I somewhat understand how it works. According to the books I've read the things that we do will always come back to us no matter what the action is. I don't mean to be all religious but heres a great quote to support that idea.

"Whatever a man soweth, that which he will also reap"

In sociology, this concept is called "generalized reciprocity" or "generalized exchange". A related transaction, which starts with a gift instead of a loan, is alternative giving.

Thanks for the definition of paying it foward.

There's a difference between knowing about something and then there's
      experiencing it.

I "knew" about it but never experienced it.

It's like I read about how to ride a bike VS actually riding a bike.

Heres a concept that I learned, which is somehow relevant:

Everything in the world is made of enerygy, and an energy will always attract to "itself".

    For example:

Have you heard of the quote "Birds of a feather flock together" ?

It just means that whatever is like unto itself is drawn.

So when you're being a "give, give give" you will attract a person who is a "give, give, give" therefore, it works!

    Makes sense? =)

      That's basically "Law of Attraction"
So, yes, it does work and it does make sense.
