10 steps to think about.

Hi

Here's a productivity boosting set of thoughts that might help you some:
  1. You "arrived" at work, what now?
  2. What goal or target must you get or reach today?
  3. Have you got a plan for that goal?
  4. Can you manage that plan?
  5. Have you set a deadline for the plan?
  6. Can you measure the results?
  7. Are you prepared to take responsibility?
  8. Forget all obstacles, difficulties and excuses.
  9. Are you prepared to accept both success and failure?
  10. Are you strong enough to try again?
Please add your productivity ideas here, thanks.

As far as productivity idea, my little brother has his girlfriend 'lock' him out of facebook and sites like that for 2 hours each day so he actually writes articles, she won't tell him the password either. She unlocks it when the timer goes off. A little much, but he gets 5 done every day :-)

      Thanks Sean

That's a good one. I'm also guilty there.

      Another one:
Make a list of the top 10 things to do tomorrow. When you start your day, start with nr 1, then nr 2 and so on.
At the end of the day you'll know you did the most important things you could.

Can you handle being a boss, and even more importantly your own boss.

Most people only look at the positive aspects to being your own boss and fail to realize that it is not as easy as it sounds.

Here are my 10-12 production tips (tips more than steps)

Tip 1. Structure your time (by making a list on paper of the free time you have daily, and breaking it up)

Tip 2. Plan your task and time properly according to task completion (make a list on paper of every task in your business)

Tip 3. Outsource tasks (that is everything you don't like doing)

Tip 4. use as many recommended softwares (which speed up processes) as you can

Tip 5. Make a list of your yearly tasks, weekly tasks, daily tasks

Tip 6. Give yourself a reward every week when you complete your tasks, and Only IF you complete them

Tip 7. (it is very easy to get distracted) Turn off youtube, forums, blog comments and other distractions, and just concentrate on your task!

Tip 8. Don't keep checking your email every 30 minutes. You won't get more rich the more you check your email.

Tip 9. Leave your phone on voice mail, and let your phone calls go there.

Tip 10. Have breaks. have a 10 minute break for every hour of work. This will refreshen your mind

Bonus Tip 11 Eat healthily (so many people miss this factor out)

Bonus Tip 12. Drink water regularly- You will be surprised how fresh you feel when you have regular water in your body

There are more details to the above tips in my free report (in my signature)

Along with drinking water and taking a break for 10 minutes every hour, throw in 10 pushups an hour as well. Sitting on a chair all day can be rough and if you can get your body moving a little bit and at the same time get a little workout (pushups are great), it would benefit you.
