A Severely Under-Utilized Warrior Forum Functionality (a.k.a. A Great Way To Get Your ?s Answered)

Hello Warriors,

Over the past year or so I've noticed a lot of new Warriors coming into the forum. It's injected new life here and we welcome the next wave of future marketers. Having written that, we see a lot of the same questions over and over again. While we encourage people to ask questions, a good portion of the questions can be answered by using a feature of this forum that is severely under-utilized:

The Warrior Forum Search Function

WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums

I personally like using the "advanced search" because I'm able to look for specific keywords in specific forums. About 95% of the time, using the "Search Titles Only" option enables me to find the threads / posts that will answer my question. Which is why you rarely see me post a question here, it's because I usually find the answer by searching.

Starting using the search feature and it will not only enhance your WF experience, it will enhance everyone else's as well.

This was my long-winded way of saying "for the love of God, use the search feature of the Warrior Forum before asking a question......puh-leeeeeeeeeezzeeeee! "

Didn't know you could search via tags!! I really like the advanced search
function. You can choose which forum you want to search in. The big
bonus (for me anyway) is that I can eliminate the WSOs ads.

Don't forget though, that if you can't be bothered searching, or reading the long list of useful threads it gives, then you can always open a new thread and ask the same questions again and again

I had this problem on another site and it really becomes annoying after a while. However, from the "newbie's" point of view, the search facilities on forums are not that good (they often misreport and leave lots out - I think due to the structure of subforums etc.) and if it is fairly common a newbie is presented with way too much information to look through and he'd rather just post a question.

It's not always as black and white as it seems, but, yes, using the feature more would at least help address some of the repeat questions.

Rod, I use the search function all the time (which is why I ask so few
questions here) but you really have to learn to use it as you would Google's
      search function.

Common word searches are futile. In fact, the search will come up saying
that the following word(s) are common and left out of the search. This
can make it tough if you're searching for member's names that are very
      common.

      Things like...

      SEO
      RSS
      FTP

and so on, will usually at least bring you threads that mention that topic,
but by themselves, are not very helpful. You need to add "helping" words
      to them like...

      SEO Tips
      automated RSS software
      FTP software

      and so on.

Personally, I find the search function not quite as powerful as Google, but
after you get used to using it, it becomes more helpful.

I am by no means a search expert, but I have yet to NOT find the answer
to the question I was looking for, even if it did take me 5 or 10 minutes
      to find it.

It's still a lot faster than waiting and HOPING that somebody answers your
thread...many of which, as you know from experience, go unanswered.

Maybe if I have some time, I'll add some search examples to this thread
for some commonly searched terms so you can see how they work and
what kind of results you'll get.

It does take time to get the hang of really using it to its full potential, but
      it's worth the effort.

At least that's my 2 cents on the subject.

      ** EDIT **

      Forgot to add...use quotes.
