Clickbank refund period - consistently enforced?

I launched a product on Clickbank a few months ago, offering a 12 month money back guarantee. When I submitted my product and sales page for approval they knocked it back saying that my refund period was unacceptable, and I could only offer a 60 day money back guarantee (it's a one off payment for an ebook).

However I have seen many sellers offering a much longer guarantee.

One of the biggest things with my product is that it cannot be accurately assessed in 60 days, so people are reluctant to buy it with such a short guarantee.

I noticed a rival product offering 12 months guarantee - when I questioned this, Clickbank basically said it wasn't their problem, and buyers would just have to contact the vendor for refunds outside the initial 60 day period.

Has anyone else come across this inconsistency in their policy? Should I just change my sales page to offer the 12 months money back and hope they don't say anything?

    Definitely not.

    ClickBank say

"Our vendors are not permitted to make any guarantee that conflicts with our return policy.
If you find a product sold through ClickBank with any warranty that conflicts with our return policy, please bring it to our attention so that we can take corrective action."

If you want to offer longer you must explain how YOU will personally refund

Most of the ClickBank products I have come across offer the 60-day guarantee. Actually, I am not sure if I've ever seen one that offers a longer one.

If they do, I would imagine that it would be the product owner that offers it out of his own pocket, however that would work.

I did a bit of searching and found one or two Clickbank products that offer more than a 60 day month guarantee. One even offers a 'no limit' guarantee which I think is nonsense personally. Just out of interest I've contacted Clickbank, referencing these products, to see what they say.

Perhaps it is possible to offer more than the 60 day guarantee if the wording / terms fall within their guidelines. Or maybe these sites are just breaking the rules. I'll post again when they reply.
