They Only Care About Money

With success comes resentment.

Online, it is very easy to find resentment, especially of people who sell
information products, people who make money selling what they know.

In surfing around online, you can find many sites and blogs with posts
or sometimes the whole site, dedicated to why so and so is a con man
or a huckster.

Most of the time, they point to the high prices of their "ridiculous" products.

Reminds me of the Oscar Wilde Quote:

A Cynic is a person who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

These people don't realize that by having that mindset, they will never break
through and achieve the success they want.

They are of the mindset that the only ethical way to earn money is by
working at their job. And anyone trying to sell stuff, especially for high
prices is obviously a con man taking advantage of people.

They may leave a blog post about a well known internet marketer such as...

"So and so is selling some ridiculous course for $300. I can get the same
information for $12.95 in the bookstore. What a con job. How can people
be so gullible to fall for this junk?"

Other people join in and pile on with other negative comments....hey that's
community building online...like minded people find each other.

Of course, after they leave their comments, they go back to the job
they hate. You know, the ethical way to earn money.

Instead of trying to learn from the people who can command those high
prices, simply labeling them a huckster is the easy way out...a cop out really.

It would take some effort for those people to start changing their mindset from
the "they are all scams" way of thinking to "let me see if I can learn something new"

I don't care who the big name person in the internet marketing field is, you can
find a negative review somewhere online about them that paints them either as a scammer, unethical...or...the biggie...Only Caring About Money.

These same people would probably thank you up and down and write raving reviews about you if you just gave all your knowledge away free...

Never, ever feel guilty about charging a good price for your information, and your
work to compile the information into a useable form, etc.

Be a proud capitalist. Be a proud entrepeneur.

Without us, there would be no jobs for the negative mindset people anyway.

There is a lot of truth to this.

On a side note, I think successful entrepreneurs need to support the free market in not just their business decisions, but in what they believe and support politically too. Adam Smith's free-market economics took the USA from a nation in debt at its beginnings to one producing over 50% of the world's goods (including luxury items) by 1901, and that with only 5% of the world's population and 6% of the landmass...

Cynicism and refusing to think outside the box keeps people in poverty - and there are a lot of people who like it that way...

Of course, with that freedom of a free market comes responsibility too - and some abuse that; but criticizing private capitalism because of that is like criticizing the right to free speech because some people curse or say unkind things.

Those who, through their pro-active nature, prosper do indeed help others to prosper...

    It's all about mindset.

I read something today that really goes with this post and shows how important mindset it.

Gene Simmons (from the band Kiss) talks about how ridiculous it is that some people have guilt about making money - among many other things...

He never had this problem and is very comfortable with his life, his decisions, and loves to make money and is proud of it.

He said...if you're feeling guity about making money, send it to him, you'll feel better and so will he.

Making money is not bad. Charging high prices if you can is not bad.

Having a negative mindset like I mentioned in the OP, that's bad.

if I were filthy rich and feel guilty about making money while others don't, I'll buy some "guilt-relief" pills.

anyway - undervalue or overvalue, who decide which is the fair price?

which parameters prevail? pricing upon effort? - some people take years to came up with a low quality course - others in a couple of hours make a master piece.

lenght? - I bought some 500 pages ebooks full of garbage (I don't like to say crap in public) and some 10 pages reports that are blowminded.

appearance? - many top-notch flash designed sites contributions are near to zero- and other plain text htlm single page are really useful.

so, how can I tell if my price is right?

When I decided to make money online it wasn't for any altruistic motives, it was for the money, period.
