Should I pay for traffic for a product launch? I have asked for some quotes, not that bad in price but will they be effective? Your opinion please. Will this be a waste of money? I just do not have a list built yet.
Thanks

The real question is: is your time worth more than your money.

You can save time by paying for traffic, or you can do it yourself and save money. If you need the time, spend the money. If you need the money, spend the time.

And, like everything, you do make sort of a gamble when you pay for traffic generation or when it's your first time trying it out.

You've got to ask yourself questions like: Will your method work? Will the person you are paying's method work? And if it doesn't work out, what can you stand more to lose? Your time or your money?

Agreed completely. There are lots of methods of free traffic (blogging, web 2.0 sites, social bookmarking, article marketing, video marketing, etc) but some of them can be time consuming. Like Adam said, figure out what is worth more to you.

To add, take into consideration of future traffic from paid and free.

Example I paid thousands to PPC for years, once I stopped paying, I get no more traffic. I spend time today marketing free, it takes time today, however that marketing will bring in traffic for this month, next month and so on.....

      Cheers,
      Mukul

Best thing would be to try out free traffic generation techniques. You can find some good free reports and guides out there to start you off with. If that works and you know the product converts well, experiment with adwords and such.

Don't pay for traffic, 90% of the time it is junk and doesn't convert. In fact, the only thing I pay for link building. Use social networking, social bookmarker, and article marketing for starters. Just keep working everyday and you will see results.

I had very little success purchasing traffic. The traffic you purchase may not be targeted. It is important to build a list of targeted traffic. Since you don't have a list, try find JV partners to help launch your product. Also, offer your buyers to become your affiliate and promote your product for you for commission.

    Hope this helps.

    To your success,
    Mike

Many newbies make the mistake of buying traffic, like 100,000 hits for $10 or similar. It is totally worthless untargeted traffic. It takes time to build traffic to a site and it can be done by building content and marketing the site in many ways. There are no short cuts, at least I don´t know of any.

There you have a bunch of generic answers to the age old question of traffic generation. But you need to answer a couple questions before you go off investing time or money into traffic generation.

The best specific response was What is your product? another is, What is your market? and, What do they look like? And then what are you giving them for their time to look at your salespage?

When you have those answers, then you will have an idea of where to look for the traffic and if you can buy it or must generate it.

As most of the Warriors have said, you can get your Traffic for Free. You have a proudct, you spent time on and now you want people to buy it. So if you do not have a lot of money to invest in PPC etc., then use the free traffic sites. you can check out the website here for a free video to show you.

My first word of advice is, stay away from PPC-these days it is oversaturated and is a colossal waste of your money...I have a free traffic-generating system I use which works well along with a company I use which advertises to 1,000,000+ ezine subscribers for mere pennies on the dollar-see my signature below...
