To Opt In Or Not...That Is The Question!

Hi Warriors!

Hope all is well with you and yours!

I have a free ebook on my website THE CASINO AND POKER SITE. It's a 64-page ebook that teaches some secrets, tips, and strategies for playing Texas Hold'Em Poker.

On the site, however, you can download the book without opting in.

I could add in an opt in form; I just chose not to.

HERE'S MY QUESTION: Do you think, Warriors, that I should put an optin form on my website so people can opt in before receiving the ebook?

Why or why not?

I would love to hear your opinions on this matter.

Thanks in advance.

You will find more people would download it if it is just a link, without an optin box option.

But i would advise you to include the optin method, so that you can Keep that customer and send him emails via an email autoresponder, and send him more offers, and poker affiliated products in the future. ie, make more money of your subscribers in the long term.

If your subscribers leave the website after they have downloading, and simply click the cancel button, than you have lost them for good. But if you capture their email, you can follow them up with emails, and sell the products (like i said above)

    so USE AN OPTIN.

Nb- I Hope you have included this:

Disclaimer: Warning, as this is Poker betting, and you are at risk to lose loads of money"

Put it up, it's a great way for you to get subscribers and there's not a reason why you shouldn't.

    Hi,

It depends on what your business model is. Specifically, what do you hope to accomplish with your free ebook?

If you've developed this product because you're hoping it goes viral in a big way -- you expect it to sweep your niche and get everyone talking about it -- then offering it freely may be your best choice.

Secondly -- what's inside the book? What specific action do you expect the reader to take after reading the ebook?

For example, you may offer this freely in hopes it goes viral. And then inside the book, your calls to action are focused mainly on getting people to join your list. Lots of people downloading your book + a good call to action that gets them joining your list = decent model.

On the flip side, maybe you have a useful but fairly average book. You expect your reader to enjoy it, but you can't see them running to the nearest gambling forum or hopping on Twitter to create a big buzz about your product. And furthermore, maybe your book is trying to sell affiliate products.

In that case, I'd get the opt-in. You want to build your list and take the opportunity to follow up with your subscribers. Just be sure your subscribers are as excited to get your newsletter as they are to get your ebook.

In sum: It depends on your business model, your goals, and what you expect the readers to do after they read your book.

    Cheers,
    Becky
