PayPal and sending funds to India

I just had three payments sent to India reversed. It seems that there is an issue sending funds to India all of a sudden.

I did not recieve notice from paypal but the seller did. The seller forwarded me the following:

"Your payment of 100 has been sent back to the sender of the payment.

We reversed this payment because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India.

If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select "Goods," and (c) provide a shipping address.

If this payment was a personal payment such as a gift, then we have requested that the sender find another payment method until we restore personal payments to and from India.

We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we're sorry for any inconvenience.

Yeah, it's happened to quite a few people including myself...

happened to me too... its got to do with 9-11, a bunch of iraq's and Afghanistan's are there hiding.

I am from india. My affiliate commissions $277 sent from market health was reversed by paypal. I hope they must have sent using mass payment. I am not sure how paypal considering mass payment as a personal payment. Now i sent an email to market health to get the commission again.

Well, this is not a good news. This will apparently cause trouble to our affiliates out there in India. Could anyone figure out whats exactly behind this? Hope this issue will not persist long.

The issue is with "personal" payments. It's no longer allowed for Indian paypal account holders, at least for the moment. They are asking to send payments as for "goods". It's really irritating
