The Book To Write Now...If You Have The Smarts

I have no intention of doing this because quite honestly, I don't have the
smarts to give people all the answers that they need, but if you do, the
book to write at this very moment...

"How To Survive In This Disastrous Economy"

Fix the title as you will. You get the idea.

This book, right now (which will probably have to be some kind of sound
investment type book mixed in with tips on how and where to save money)
will probably make somebody more money online than any "how to make"
money book out there right now.

I've done the keyword research. People are in a panic. And that's putting
it mildly.

So if you're a financial expert, or know of one who you can collaborate
with...go for it.

The time is ripe.

Great idea...better still is one for the basic survival day by day. I think it goes beyond the financial expert to one who knows how to live in impoverished conditions and get the most out of it. People are having to live in conditions they are not use to and many have no experience at it. Think you have given me some ideas, though I am not a financial expert.

I have been thinking of capitalizing on this for a while now but I don't have the smarts to create a book like that but I have been writing articles explaining how an online business can be of great help during the bad times and the response is really good. The bad economy can definately be capitalized on.

I've already been thinking about this one. I'm a published author and pretty good with multimedia, basic web design, and SEO. I'd be interested in collaborating with someone on this one if they want to make it a whole system, not just an ebook. I've done these systems before, but never for a topic like this. Somebody who's gonna write that would not only be earning money but will also help diffuse the crisis even just in a small way.

It will be a worthwhile endeavor..

Steven, I like your initial title but I would change Survival to Profit or maybe Succeed. Just throwing out a suggestion, nothing else.

I can't do it because I don't have the financial smarts to do it. I know what
would have to go into the book, but I don't have the knowledge, and I
certainly don't have the time to do the research on it.

Well, like I said, fix the title as you want. You get the idea. And yeah, profit
or succeed might be a better seller depending on how you're marketing it
and who you're trying to reach.

You have to understand something.

During times like this, I have found there are two kinds of people, depending
on your mindset.

1. People who are just looking to survive, such as pay their rent, buy food
and so on.

2. People who are looking to cash in on the bad times.

Until I do the research, I don't know which group of people would be
more likely to buy the book.

My thinking is survival because of all the people in a panic now, not
spending money. Those who aren't panicking, I'm thinking might not have
as much interest in the slant of the book, that being "the economy".

There's a lot of psychological stuff in sales (thank you to my copywriting
teachers) and you have to know who your market is and what buttons
to push.

I started something very similar two weeks ago. Got 25,000 words into it before running into a setback...

Another Idea came to mind.

Why not make it a group project of about 10 seasoned warriors who's an expert in their niche. Then package it as something like "A warrior forum's Med Pill" with the Intention of really helping people during this turbulent times..money aside.

I can't seem to get the proper words but it sounds like "It will be a decent undertaking/contribution to help" but still not deep enough..

This idea occurred to me just a couple of days ago, as well! I've already bought a domain name for the project, and have thought about setting up a whole website devoted to personal economic survival (and thriving) in the bad economy, and selling an ebook on the subject on the site. In fact, I've spent nearly all day trying to figure out some of the more technical aspects of setting up this kind of website (and banging my head on my desk a LOT in frustration.....I'm a writer, not a techie). If I can ever figure out how to set up the website, I'll start writing the ebook tomorrow. Between my experience teaching college for 7 years, my 6 years as a freelance writer, and my good research skills, I think I've got the book covered.....I've already got an outline!

It's true....this is a very timely idea, and I hope to be able to carve out a little bit of income out of it. If anyone wants to partner with me on the project, I'm definitely willing to discuss it (a partnership wouldn't have even occurred to me, had it not been for one of the previous posts in this thread, so thanks for the idea!).
