TwitOnMyFace - a Message for us all from Stephen Fry

I approached Stephen Fry directly several months ago
for a fundraising initiative for the charity in my signature
below (2nd one down) NothingButNets.net asking him
if he wouldn't mind promoting this very worthy cause to
his hundreds of thousands (at the time) followers.

Received a reply shortly afterwards saying he would be
delighted to do so.

Lo and behold it took off across the Twittersphere virally
like a wild fire, with tens upon tens of thousands of people
in the following few weeks promoting NothingButNets.

Indeed, I had to apologise to NothingButNets for almost
crashing their servers, still I did receive a very nice thank
you letter from them, very appreciative of my thinking
outside the box initiative, contacting him in the first
place.

An initiative, (if one can call it that), which took precisely
5 minutes to put together and from such a small action on
my part, together with Stephen Fry, instantly raised the
profile of NothingButNets and raised a huge amount of
money for this charity, which ended up directly saving
the lives of many, many people in Africa and elsewhere.

Whilst personally I havn't much time for Twitter, in cases
like this, it has the potential to do an enormous amount
of good, very quickly indeed.

My thanks go to Stephen Fry for taking me up on my
offer to promote NothingButNets - good on him, many
thanks Stephen!
