Autoresponder or Broadcast?

I have a quick question about how to go about sending a new message to my subscribers. You see, I've gathered 24 people on my list through a free ebook offer. And other than being informed when I've made a new blog post, this is all they have received so far. So my question is this. If I create a follow up message with a 1 day interval will it also immediately send this message to my current subscribers? Or will I have to create a broadcast for my current subscribers?

Any input is much appreciated.

Depends on the autoresponder. So this is a general answer.

It sounds like you only loaded one message in your autoresponder so far. This means your list is ready to receive message #2. In most cases your new message would go out right away. (or when your autorsponder checks it's send schedule.)

Otherwise, yes, do a broadcast message, which would go out immediately, again depending on the structure of your que.

I think it would be a really good idea if you just create a broadcast. =

Since your list is still small, now would be a good time to take some time and write at least 20 or so autoresponder messages and load them up. The interval is up to you, but I would recommend not wearing the list out by sending them every day or even every other day. I think 3 days between or more is ideal (just my personal opinion). Then, send out the occasional broadcast to the entire list that has a message that is not in your autoresponder message list.

Send a broadcast out now, then take the excellent advice offered below for future members

See, I have not used my autoresponder much. So if my list is 3 months old and I add all 10 messages all set to one week intervals, the list will get all 10 at once? Or they will start to get them 1 at a time at the week long interval? I've got to see.

I appreciate the responses but I am still a bit confused. If I create another follow up message with a 1 day interval, will my pre-existing subscribers receive this message immediately?

I'm using Getresponse by the way.

I use Aweber, so maybe it's not the same at GR, but your previous list members won't get new additions to your autoresponder series if you add new messages after that member joined. You need to broadcast to them with new stuff. Someone who is more of an expert can probably chime in and give you a better solution, if one exists.

Not sure which system you are using, but you can check to see if you can reset your subscribers to a particular message #.

With Followup101.com: Home of the Affordable Autoresponder you can add your 10 new messages, maybe update message #1, and then reset all subscribers to start over, and they will get all the messages in the intervals you want.

Yeah, current members won't get "follow-ups" that are assigned for day intervals that are less than the number of days that they've been on your list. Doing broadcast emails, and then later setting them up as follow-up emails, works best.

Most autoresponders allow you to recycle the subscribers. If you can set the message to start at, that would do it.

If the list you build is regarding your blog post, you just need to notify them in your broadcast for new post.

If the list is for followup and build relationship, write messages to lead them to whatever you want them to do.

It all depends on what you want.
