Why is Money Made Online Different?

Why do people think that making money online is different than making money any other way?

That being that money made online is somehow magical and outside the reach of government and untaxable?

Do you not use the money to pay your rent/mortgage/car payment/phone bill?

Do you not use the money to buy real world items?

Do you not use the money to eat lunch?

Do you think it is some kind of monopoly money you can only use online and, as such, is not subject to taxation because it's not real?

I'm not sure I fully grasp the mindset of people that seem to think that online money is different from offline money. It all goes into the same bank account, no? How is it any different?

Not sure either, I would of thought it is something to do with being your own boss and the money you earn is all going to you and not to a company. Thats what I think anyway.

It's harder to make as most people have short arms and deep pockets when it comes to spending a dollar these days. So as a result of that fact you tend to appreciate it more. Anyone can get a job, but it takes a special kind of person to become an entrepreneur and build a business that can be passed down to future generations.

For me Online money is monopoly money. At least for now.

This whole business is a game for me where I get points when I manage to make a sale or when I get high rankings or find new traffic methods.

The monopoly money is of course used to develop more income sources and build houses (or backlinks) and hotels (articles).

The magic with the online money is that you can not really controll it. It is not like you work for eight hours and get an exact amount. Still you see that what you do has an effect. You just do not know what the effect will be.

And the last magic thing is that old work gives income later and eventually you can be able to stop playing monopoly and your monopoly money suddenly become real. (and I do pay taxes)

    Dan,

For me personally, it was getting past the mentality of it all being 'electronic'. Money transferred directly to PayPal account.

Coming from making money offline, getting the cash in hand or getting a check then depositing/cashing it, it took some getting used to it being 'real', until I started spending it.

Plus the concept of making more online than I ever did off. Took a while, but I 'get it' now.

    Thanks,

    John
