Our main niche is How To Become ( careers ), it is very broad niche but it is very well searched but alos lot of competition there. It would be easier if you narrow it down a bit: How to become ... ( just one small area/subject )

And there is always How To Make Money Online Niche

Agreed. I am just saying it would take a fool to give out a virtually untapped niche that is making them money on any live forum.

While I only look at the number one google ranking for any term as my competition, a lot of people will do all they can to take you out of the number ten spot .

They look at anyone on the warrior Forum as their equal, and while not confident enough to tackle number one , they will do all they can to take your niche away from you .

Oh yeah , by the way , I am after your rankings in make money online since you didn't protect that little untapped jewel

Ive done that one before and it has worked out well. I think one day I packed up the wife and kids and we went to the book store in my town. I browsed the magazine racks while they looked at children's books. I ended up with well over 30-40 new niche ideas when I left that day.

The first thing you need to get into is something that you like. If you get into a niche geared towards something you like you are more likely to be successful. If you like sports get into sports.

I disagree with doing something you like. I tried that when I was new and didn't do well at all hahaha my likes were way to competitive. Who in their right mind would find a niche that is VERY lucrative and untapped but say, "oh darn! its not something I would enjoy" and skip over it.

Just saying is all, sorry money2k nothing personal....

LOL! Great point Troy. My point though was to not limit to what you only like, as you may the one to find a niche that is hot and un-tapped on something you normally would never of thought of.

I agree with what your saying to but its also an amazing way to feel you way into finding the right niche for you, especially ones that have been flooded online, it gives you unlimited access to a wealth of ideas and insperation plus ya can make money from sports, the conversion is in the product. So I do agree but I dont think it will do any harm to try out something you like.

A successful niche market must meet the following criteria:
          (1) is this a market people are buying on line now ?
          (2) can you easily reach those buyers on line & get them to buy from you?
A good keyword navigation tool is resultzzs.
          Cheers nickrees

By all means, use what interests you as a stepping-off point. Practically any subject area can be niche-ified.

The people making BIG money are in the big niches where the money is. weight loss, muscle gain, make money online, forex, satellite tv on pc software, anti spyware/adware software, make money (general bizopp), and self help niches.

I would have to agree with Troy_Phillips that no one is going to give you the information about what niche is hot, maybe do something that you are interested in as a starter.

Do a lot of keyword research and keep your eyes open to products, habits, hobbies etc...even if you don't know anything about them. Somebody in this forum telling you a good niche is probably lying. Do your research, spend time learning and you will succeed. Internet Marketing is a real career with a big learning curve. Not so big you can't overcome it, but big enough that it needs an investment of time from you. I'll be honest with you and tell you a niche I was going to try out until I found a monster niche. I put it on the back burner but it will give you an idea of just how to really look for things. Light Up Ice Cubes. Yep good niche not much competition but there will be now probably. And no I'm not joking.

Here is a quick one that somebody else has tried and tested and is now making a good wedge of money from, he wont tell me how but its defo working for him and its something called "scalectric" ya know the electronic racing cars. Usually though people wont let you in on a niche thats hot, because they dont want to flood the market for themselves.

Or you can start off by using your social activities, such as the sports you play, the games you play or information products as your niche. If you have a quirky knowlodge of something thats not main stream, then create your own product on that topic because no matter how pointless the info seems to most, there will be a whole host of people willing to pay you for your knowlodge, maybe start with an e-book and build from there.

It's a personal thing, and here's a way to discover yours:

By the way, I disagree with purely going for the money - if you have no personal interest whatsoever then it makes those long nights working your niche even longer. On the other hand, going for pure interest is hit and miss because there may not be a market, so here's how you can find a happy median.

Take a look at some transparent marketplaces where you can get an idea of the volume and value of things that are actually selling. Amazon best sellers are good for this, or eBay. Clickbank can be a good indicator too, especially if you intend to promote affiliate products - if there are numerous products in a particular niche then it's almost certainly a good market.

As you're looking down these lists of items and topics, if you relax your mind a little and don't actually look for anything in particular you may notice that certain items will stand out for you. They may not be focused squarely on your particular specific interest but there will be some relationship or reason they look more attractive and stand out a bit. These are things that you could pretty easily work up some enthusiasm for as they are actually broadly within your interests.

Once you've been through a few lists and discovered a few of these then a theme will begin to emerge. You will see that products are available to sell (or create) and you will find yourself feeling more enthusiastic. Congratulations, you are discovering your niche.

I think it's a bit like choosing a puppy - to some extent you can sort of let the niche choose you.

    Does that make sense?

    Phil

You can make money in any niche if you go about it the right way. It really annoys me when people ask which niche they should use to make money. Just pick one and off you go. Drill the niche down as far as you can.

Generally, when people find a niche that makes money, they don't post it in a public forum. It would then become very competitive and they wouldn't be making money with it any longer.

What you need to do is niche and keyword research to find your own niches, and when you find a profitable one, don't share that info.
