I am finding a hard time getting around this. I love ebooks that have images and pictures put in appropriate places in the ebooks. It is illustrative and facilitates understanding when the author is driving home some points. Unfortunately, I can't do this for now. I have finished my first "bare" ebook in MS Word. Only text, no pictorial illustrations!!!!!! I guess there is a free or paid report that teaches this niche problem on how to make great looking ebooks in MS Word. I need recommendations please. I appreciate in advance. |

You should be able to put images is MS Word without any issues, then just set the text to wrap how you want it and print the file as a pdf. No problem :-)

Hi, For everyone that needs help in formatting ebook except for eCover: MS Word 2007 has lots of options for easily creating ebook from ebook title page to end note.
Finally install cutepdf writer from cutepdf.com and have your ebook in .doc format to .pdf format absolutely free. Now you have created your ebook totally free with the help fo ms office 2007 and cutepdf writer. In case you wish to have a custom ecover, have it ready from your designer and insert it in the title section before you convert it to pdf. Let me know if you have a question. This is very easy and I use for my reports and ebooks. Thank you. |

You can insert pictures into Word by going to Insert/Picture/and then choose your source. You can also copy and paste pictures into Word. Then right-click the image and choose Format. Play around. It's easy. Life is good. |

I also have a question in-regards to the topic of ebooks - how do you insert an affiliate link within the image or just using text below an image? Lets say I have an image of a Golf Club Set and I want to direct my readers to my affiliate site but I do not want to point out it is an affiliate site - How can I do this Click Here For Greatest Prices On Golf Clubs - When the reader clicks on the link all they see if my text within their browser window and are directed to my site. I feel by doing this they can not make a change to the link and steal my commissions. Is this possible to do? Thanks, Jason |

Just select the picture and click the link icon, that is the one that looks like a chain link in front of a little earth. I think that is right anyway, but why not save yourself a lot of trouble and use OpenOffice instead, its free and far easier to use. |

You can do pretty professional formatting in Word, or you can use MS Office Publisher (I believe Open Office has an equivalent). As noted in prior posts, it's not hard to add graphics in Word and get them to look nice.

I believe you should consult a professional or a consultant first. You can choose a person whom you think can guide you. Also, it is good to refer other tips available online. There are plenty of ebooks available on how to create and present impressive ebooks. You may try that as well. |

As a first step collect/write your content. This is the most difficult part. Word is able for the most advanced formating you may imagine and with freely available plugins you can export to pdf format.

On your website, you might have a directory/folder named "recommends". In that directory, you place a PHP redirect file, say "golf-clubs.php". The content of the file, which is just a text file, would be something like this: Code: <?php
header("Location: http://your.real.affiliate.link.here.dom/");
?> Code: http://www.yourwebsite.dom/recommends/golf-clubs.php When they click the link, they will be taken to the affiliate link. It won't completely prevent someone from keeping you from getting your commission if they are determined to do so, but it makes for a more trustworthy-appearing link, which can help for the casual user who may be off-put by a strange link. | |

Always test your links when you are done. PDF's have a nasty way of having the links not work. I use OpenOffice export to PDF function and that seems to work every time. PCRoger. |
