Newbie makes 17.000 pound in 21 days??

When I watch these kind of videos I watch with disbelief. A newbie makes 17.000 pounds in 21 days? HOW in the world?

I googled Lucy Johnson (the lady in the video) and she doesn't have a web presence at all! I can't find her.

What could they possible be teaching at the World Internet Summit than the usual stuff, like find a niche, make a website, build a list and drive traffic?

Makes me feel like there is some kind of 'magic button' I don't know about.

Has anyone ever been to the World Internet Summit before?

Yes, while they do teach some other techniques, these examples are people that took massive action for a full 8 hours a day 6-7 days a week. Helps if you have some affiliates working for you too :-)

Perhaps she made it becoming an affiliate for them - they offer a 40% commission if you register for the summit yourself.

::: WORLD Internet Summit - The Original & The Best Internet Marketing Seminars Worldwide :::

Their upcoming event in Australia costs 197 USD to attend, so you'd make 78 dollars per sale. At the current exchange rate she'd need to sign up 338 attendees, which is about 16 per day for 21 days.

    Just a thought.

Sounds more like a sales pitch than an explanation of what she did :p

No, it's something called "mathematics" - until this post I'd never heard of the "World Internet Summit". I used this thing called "Google" to look them up - you should try it sometime, instead of posting baseless insinuations.

The lady in the video said she's been trying to make money on the Internet for 8 months before coming to this event, after which she hit the jackpot in 21 days. I was merely calculating the feasibility (which I'm personally skeptical about as without a list selling 338 sign-ups doesn't seem likely)

Perhaps instead she sold 1 signup and received the rest of the money for doing the promotional video.

      Isn't this guy into webinars?

Even if the earnings claim is true, he appears to be presenting an outlier (someone who did unusually well) as a typical result.

If everyone at the "summit" did that well, I am sure we would have heard about it.

Bill, it is not a baseless insinuation and I don't even think I am making an insinuation, I am stating fact, she is doing a sales pitch for the summit either for her own direct benefit or that of someone else, never once did she explain how she made £17,000, or did you hear something in that video no one else did?

These kinds of stories are just hype to try and pull in an audience. There is also lots of shady charachters that make these videos too so never believe any of it, just get on with what you know works.

Ive been to two world internet summits and they sell the hype. Infact, a close friend of mine paid for personalised coaching and ended up demanding his money back. Its all sizzle and no steak IMO.

Yes i been to World Internet Summit, and it is really amazing event. I saw that guy in the video( Steve Essa). But there is a lot of sales pitches.

More than a week ago, i was in London in Mark Anastasi List Building Masterclass and Steve Essa was speaking. He is basically teaching to do webinars. At the end of the presentation Lusy gave a live testimonial, and after that i saw many people were buzzing around Lusy. I didnt have a chance to talk with here, but i trully believe that she made £17K. As she said was trying to make money online for 9months. She bought a lot of courses, she even develop a product and paid copywritter to write copy for her product, but in the launch day she didnt made single sale. As she said, she is spend a lot of £££ for different kind of products and got in debt.

The reason you cant find her online, because she made that kind of money using webinars. I am not sure, but her product was high price point, like a £2K.
    Regards

Now that is believable! I was just wondering how she did it.
Obviously not with selling ebooks. :p

I attended the WIS Uk in 2006. There were almost 1,000 attendees.

When i attended i had never even heard of 'Internet Marketing' as it is known. The majority of people there were Newbies to IM.

Really there is no secret sauce they teach. You have approximately 15 or so speakers over a 4 day period. They talk for 1 hour 30 mins - 1 hour of content and 30 mins of selling there coaching program.

If you are a Newbie there is absolutely no way (unless you are very very lucky) that you can take their shared information and make any money at all.

However, if there is an attendee who has experience in IM (even if they have not made much money yet) then there is a chance that they could pick up some golden nuggets and make some money.

This is most likely what happened to this attendee in the video. It may be the case she had already built a list or had potential JV's - she could then have picked up some useful information that converted into sales for her.

WIS does give out some useful information but only experienced marketers will be able to implement them.

The main aim of WIS is to sell you on the coaching programs at the end of each presentation which can range from $1500 to $10000 depending on the speaker. Each speaker has a 'knack' for getting the newbies super excited and onto their programs.

Personally i do not see anything wrong with this business model as long as the programs sold at the end provide genuine value.

This is how WIS in 2006 turned out for me:

    1) I was a raw newbie and got excited by the speakers.

    2) I ended up paying for a coaching program at $5,000. The coaching program was a joke, the promises were not delivered and constant excuses were made by the so called coach.

    3) I was so excited i went for a 2nd coaching program @ $2000 which covered a different area. This one again did not deliver on its promises.

The 1st coaching program was by a member of this forum. However, i won't be naming him here.

So that was approx $500 for the WIS ticket and $7000 on coaching programs.

I could look at this as a major loss. However, looking at it in a positive light it was actually extremely profitable and it has changed my lfe.

    How?

From the $5k coaching program (which was a waste of time in terms of the coaching) i heard about the warrior forum. The warrior forum is where i learnt everything and as a result i have successful online and offline income streams.

Had it not been for the WIS i would never have heard of 'IM' and the warriorforum so from my perspective that $7.5k spent has turned into many many more thousands.

WOW, 17.000 pound in 21 days!?!?!?!?

This goes to show you how things can REALLY get lost in translation!

Not knowing that pound is a currency... 17.000 pounds of WHAT!?!?
Knowing ONLY that a pound is British currency... So $26.54 in 21 days? What the!?!?!?

Realizing that the . and , are switched in europe, etc... OH, OK $26,537 in 21 days.

That is almost as bad as an ad today that says lose ten pounds by 12/2/2010! In Europe, that would be the 12 of february. In the US it is the 2nd of december!

Sorry, just had to mention! 8-)

    Steve
