Hello,

I am currently using a WP theme that I Downloaded for free on the internet. Does anyone know how I can delete the words on the footer or at least change them?

Here is a link to the foot so you can see what it looks like:

If you need to see the whole site, you can go here:

Thanks so much for any help!

I very strongly doubt that you are allowed to remove that if you got it for free; that's how they get traffic to their site. Usually free themes have as a condition that the footer cannot be changed.

You can remove the footer links by accessing footer.php and deleting the links there and adding your own.. you need to pen footer.php in dreamweaver or in notepad. Simply find the links in the footer and delete the sentence.. However, if the footer.php file doesn't seem to have a link then the whole code is encrypted.. to get around that, you need to contact me.!

Please remember if the designer of the theme asked you to click the user agreement checkbox before downloading the theme, you should NOT remove the links from the footer, otherwise there is no rule for this.. but give them a little credit by mentioning their name somewhere on the site..

        thanks,

All you need to do is edit the footer.php file through the Theme editor in Wordpress - nothing more required.

Looking at your site probably won't help as the page you see is created on the fly by including various PHP elements...

You should be able to find footer.php - which usually includes the footer links - by navigating to:

Appearance > Editor within your WP-Admin dashboard.

    Kindest regards,
    Karl.
