Host Gator Down? Check Your Sites...

Every single one of my websites hosted with host gator went down as of about 5 min. ago... I'm getting to the bottom of it now but would like to know and I'm not alone here!

    yup its official... few of host gators servers are down for the next hour. Wish they could be like every other company and send out an email in advanced so I can switch to a separate server for the downtime and not toss money down the drain on advertising a site that is not available.

    I agree with you. They should send out a warning, but overall they are good. Is this your first issue with hostgator. I have been with them for a while and no issues.

    My sites are back up too. Their customer service rep said this was a planed downtime and the second one I have personally caught. They expect you to constantly look for down time posts in their forum and do not send out emails.

    Who has time to constantly check their forum for downtimes. How hard can it be for them to send out an email so I can pause all my PPC campaigns.

    One of my sites is down tonight too.. but it's not with Hostgator.

    They gave me a 2 week warning via email and also phoned my home a couple of days ago to make sure I knew about it.

      You mean you are not hosting with hostgator? Then which company are you hosting with? I don't think that hosting companies phone their clients for downtime warning!

        Mine does, it's this one Zen Internet

        One of my sites is very high traffic which might be why they called.

    Host gator has always seemed pretty good to me. I don't know if my sites were down, maybe I missed the downtime, but they are up now =)

    Mine are up and never have downtime ... Anyways, do not always expect a company to email someone when a server goes down. It may have caught on fire (it has happened before with some host) and the last thing on their mind is emailing someone..

    That doesn't seem right. I'm with Hostgator too and I don't have time to be checking their forums for downtime notices. Glad everyone's sites are back up.
