Where can I find really cheap freelancers?

Normally I avoid cheap freelancers, since they tend to
mess things up.

But right now I'm looking for some people to do some
tedious grunt work for me. This work is very easy, even
a little toddler could do it. That's why I'm looking
for cheap freelancers.

I'm looking for freelancers who work for $1
an hour or less.

I know that there are people who work for that
kind of money, but where do I find them?

Cheers & thanks in advance

Have a look at Outsource to Freelancers, IT Companies, Programmers, Web Designers from India, Russia, USA, and more - oDesk

There may be some people who are starting out and would like to build their reputation.

You can try getafreelancer also. It would be more cheaper than odesk.

Getafreelancer like he ^ said would be good for finding super cheap work. But one would have to be super desperate to work for $1 an hour.

I can 2nd, or 3rd Odesk for anything that is menial.

Be aware people often over state their qualifications, so spending $2 an hour instead of $1 usually can get you someone with some type of experience and refereneces, which I've had great luck with.

Is it necessary to pay hourly rather than on a project basis? You're likely to get a higher quality respondent if you pay a flat fee. Can it be broken down for Mturk?

I dont think that freelancers are willing to work for $1/hour, i've used them before and the prices are higher when you hire them, some guys from India made cheap jobs..you can try to use them.

Go to a nursery, and talk to some mothers. You could probably find a LOT of toddlers! and $1 can REALLY add up! I mean we ARE talking about close to two decades until college!

HEY, you DID say a toddler could do it. Heck, maybe the zoo will let you borrow some chimps.

dont use elance, $50 minimum there per project

    Go with rentacoder or scriptlance.

Also its how you word it and what you want done. I dont like to cheap change anyone even if they are in another country. Be fair $1 an hour is a bit of a piss take if I dont mind saying.

$5 or $8 may be fine but im not sure your going to get many takers on $1 an hour, they might work for cheap in india but they aren't idiots

If indians worked the same as americans(40/h a week), the average hourly pay would be about $4/hour.

Yep, and I believe you have to put up a $10 deposit to post a job.

If you pay $1 an hour for writing, graphic design, website building or coding, the odds are it's going to cost you a lot more.

For that kind of price you are more than likely to get scraped or stolen content.

On the other hand, it's getting harder to find decent freelancers on those kind of sites because they are being drowned out by the noise of talentless wannabes and their shills.

    Ok
I understand it's work a monkey could do. I even understand that in a global economy it's understandable that for someone a low rate to me is a GREAT rate to them.
But hell. A $1 an hour?
I'll tell you why I couldn't do that to someone- because I have way too much respect for the human race to pay that small amount to anyone. I might pay $1 per a part of a job, because then they have the power to better themselves by improving their output. But a dollar an hour? Am I the only person who feels this is morally wrong?
I'm in business and I know I have to make a profit. And sometimes that means I need to make savings. But to me, the need to positively respect another and build a good working relationship with them buy paying them a fair amount exceeds my greed for the larger bottom line.

    $1/hr??

There may be people willing to work at that rate, but I'm not one of them. Hell, if that's their definition of making money, they're better off at McDonald's...
