What's the diffrence between Social Media,Social Networking and Web2.0?

Hi,

Are these 3 things talking about the same thing?
Can you guys please help to explain in a laymen terms?
It will be better if it comes with some real life examples.

Also, if is there a Web 1.0?

Cheers

    How I see it.

web 2.0 = user generated content
web 1.0 = publisher generated content

social media = the sites that offer social networking, bookmarking etc.
Social networking = meeting and interacting with people using social media sites

      Thanks Brad,

Can you enlighten me further with some example?
Is Warrior Forum consider a Social Media? Since we are networking now?
And since we are generating content as user here, is this consider Web2.0?

Any other examples you can give? Or Anyone?

Forums are technically social networking yes. Any time you take part in the ongoing conversation online you are social networking.

Don't get caught up in the labels. Just take part where you see yourself fitting in.

      Thanks again, Brad.

That's exactly what happened in Taiwan, caught up in the labels,
the here media had been creating quite a lot of confusing hype
about these stuff. Everybody is talking about them but only a handful
really know what's really going on?

Just want to set my mind straight.

      Thanks.

Even though forums have been around forever, they're still a web 2.0 thing since web 2.0 is about being user centered, sharing, and collaboration....and hence WF is web 2.0 IMHO.

      Thanks Rob,
      The link is helpful.

So let me get this right.....

Web2.0 is any site that gives the user to create content on that platform, when users can interact and communicate on the platform, it is a social media, so people interacting there is actually social networking with each other.
