Username / Password Security

Hi.

I logged onto hostgator chat, the technican asked for my username and password. Given security issues, is it safe?

    I have done it before. After they are finished with the work I would just change the password again.

    of course it's safe. If you're worried just do like told above and change your password after

    They are making sure you are who you say you are. I don't use Hostgator, but it if isn't a secure chat, just change your password when you're through as money2k said.
