I feel your pain. I was slow to make money at this also. I felt like I had to read and digest everything! I know that most new marketers buy everything and there's so much information that you end up suffering from information overload!

Why don't you share what you have tried so far so people know better how to advise you.

Not to sound negative but there is NO reason why you shouldn't be making a Profit by now !!

There is no secret to this. And there are literally hundreds of different ways to make money.

Example : Why don't you go to Clickbank pick out a product or topic that you have some knowledge and interest about. Then go get a Free Blogger and start Posting about your topic. And put some affiliate Ads on the side to monetize it. And just Post content everyday with unique and relevant stuff. And use good keywords relating to your Blog theme. Also , build up backlinks using Article Submissions to EZA and do some Blog Commenting with signature anchor text.

After doing this and posting Quality content EVERYDAY (with Pinging) for 1 year the Money will start rolling in

I also wanted to point out that selling Im products is one of the hardest niches to promote, especially for a beginner.

I started with a free blogger blog and researched a niche to get content, wrote articles and got lots of advice! I think the thing is is to focus on one thing at a time. If you try article marketing, keep at it. It means submitting lots of articles and tracking them to see how you do. A scattered approach is not very effective.

LIke others have said, read the forum to get information and then ask specific questions. There really is so much opportunity, it is staggering.

Hehe... Ok, I guess I thought YOU were Jason Pearson (whoever he is). Time for a new niche I suppose.

My only question for you is are you getting enough traffic? If not, there's your first problem. If you are getting the traffic, I'd try designing a different landing page and see if it works better. I trust you're using Statcounter or Google Analytics or something like them to study your traffic.

Looks like your mind-set has a lot to do with this, and no- I don't think another Ebook is the answer.

Maybe it is time to take stock in what you have done so far, evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, and yes- go back to the drawing board.

It took me about 6 months to earn my first $100 online, and a year to break a thousand.

All the Ebooks in the world are worthless unless you act.

This is so typical. Newbie marketer complains about how sick and tired he is of being sold stuff, and wonders why he can't sell anything himself.

Then he openly shows the world that he is trying to promote a money making product. Jeez, the irony and contradiction barometer is about to freaking well explode.

Sorry man, but your "problem" is recycled through your own activity. In other words, if there were less people touting programs they clearly know nothing about, then perhaps it would be easier for more people like yourself (newbies) to actually learn something real.

No offense, but the irony is too much to bite my lip over.

Hey Dying Marketer,

Your attitude stinks! Even your user name reflects it. These "Sharks" as you refer to them are trying to give you some tough love, here. You are trying to sell people a dream that you are not a part of. "Do this, and you'll earn this". But you haven't been able to follow this advice to a good financial conclusion, yourself, and people can tell when you are incongruient with your message.

So, I'm going to outline a plan for you to follow, OK? I'm not going to try to sell you anything. This is all free.

First, a question for you. What do you love to do? When you have the free time and can do whatever you want, what is that?

What is the best/favorite part of that? That is your niche.

Next, you said you tried article writing. Write 10 articles about the different facets of your afore-mentioned passion. Ex.: The 7 Things..., The 3 Things to Avoid..., The Best Way/Place to..., How To Get the Best...

Submit these articles to the Free Article Sites with a blurb in your signature file about "if you would like more information, go here: www.mysite.com . Or, maybe offer these as a WSO on this forum with PLR rights.

When people come to your site (squeeze page) for more info, capture there contact info (and if possible have a questionaire, so your new list can tell you what they want. Then give it to them!) and you have now started your list. You can have an Affiliate product to offer that fits well with your niche, and a newsletter with more ideas, etc...

Now, take the 10 articles and create an e-book. Each article is a chapter in the book. Flesh it out a little, and you now have your own product to sell.

Approach your "compatition" and offer your e-book as a back-end product that they can offer on their Thank You or OTO page. You give them 75% commission on this. (are you paying attention, goldfish? I'm giving you the teeth to swim with the sharks, here!)

These sales made from the back-end offers of your compatition are putting money in your pocket and added to your list (paying customers=best list possible)... Research your niche even further and get more ideas for articles (responses from questionaire are best), which become books, etc...

Lather, Rinse, Repeat... That's the outline. Once you have the first business on auto-pilot, branch out into another niche.

There are some in-between steps I glossed over, like keyword research to optimize your website for organic search engine ranking, etc...

None of this will cost you a penny. Just time. Soon you will be one of the sharks, shaking your head at the rantings of a frustrated goldfish.

Seriously, man, this is a very workable plan. The Warriors here are willing to help you, but a lot of it has to do with your attitude. Going postal isn't going to help anything, as is whining about the crappy criticism. Get a little thicker skin, ask a few more questions when you get stuck, and let's make some money!

Come on man, you can do this!

With an attitude like that, you won't find much help here, or anywhere.

It's no one else's job to hand you anything on a silver platter.

If you want to know why you can't sell anything, look at what you're selling. If you sell a crappy product, you will get crappy results.

For some good traffic make a Squidoo lens about your niche subject. Google loves Squidoo and ranks the pages quickly. Include a link to your web page or blog. (go to Squidoo for a ton of tutorials or go to YouTube and watch the many video tutorials there on how to make your own Squidoo Lens).

Or, if you need some quick cash, link straight to an Affiliate sales page you are promoting from your Squidoo Lens. This will bypass the list building process, so you'll be losing out on building your list, but by Pre-Selling on the Squidoo Lens and putting your Affiliate Link in there, the customer is sent straight to the Sales page of the product you are trying to sell (through your Affiliate Link), and you get paid when they buy. Instant Cash!

You Pre-sell (warm them up to the idea) and then let the product's own sales page do the real selling for you.

This Pre-sell can be in the form of a "Review Page" where you explain the good AND bad of the product, and then Link them to the sales letter. Cha-Ching!

One other important thing...Pick some good keywords. (do you know how to research/find them? Let me know if you don't and we can review that in another post) and use these keywords in your Squidoo Title, sub-titles and body copy of your lens. This gets the spiders to crawl all over your page and go tell the search engines "Hey, I found some meaty stuff, here!" All this drives crazy free traffic for you.

Wow, if I were to take all the info I've put into these posts, flesh it out a little and work it up into a report, add a couple videos showing Keyword Researching, Squidoo Lens creation, etc...I could have a good selling product...UHMMM... *Disregard the loud noise you hear, it's the cogs in my brain turning. :rolleyes: *
