Small Business 2.0 Event in London - what's it all about? - Anyone ever heard of it?

Does anyone know of this event and is anyone going to it?

Small Business 2.0 - Unleash the power of the web!

I'm not really up on the names within IM, so should I be impressed (or not) by the speakers and programme of events?

My first impressions are luke warm, but maybe you know better...

I always think it paradoxical that these conferences are about best-practice in online marketing, yet those of us who spend our lives in that arena have never heard of them!

I'm not sure I'll attend this one although I would like to get to at least one this year.

      Cheers,

Following on from Neil's observation that he'd never heard of this event, I thought I'd see if anyone else was aware of it.

I know someone who's got an involvement in this event and I'm curious about the results of the poll.

I'm vaguely aware of a couple of the speakers. Seems as though most of them have an eBay connection.

I'd say only bother if you're seriously intending to start or grow an eBay biz.

The thing about shows like this is that people who spend a lot of time in places like the WF probably won't learn much that's new.

They just take the knowledge we already have and package it up into fancy presentations for business people for whom this is new and who do their learning that way.

I'm definitely not saying that all conferences/exhibitions are like that, but some are, and it's often those that have big-name brands as sponsors and/or exhibitors.

I went to one in Islington in July and it was a complete waste of time. I enjoyed a few days in London though!

      Cheers,

I attended adtech (technology for businesses) the other week at olympica. They had a few companies there pitching to businesses about promoting their businesses online. However after further digging most of the companies were not IM companies but just good pitch companies.
