Someone with an iPhone...

I just installed the "wptouch" plugin for wordpress WPtouch: Mobile Plugin + Theme for WordPress BraveNewCode Inc. onto my main blog site.

The plugin is to create a 'theme' for IPhone, android users that is nicely reformated to the devices screen.

I do not have a Iphone myself, and the guy who runs the convience store across the street has one but he wont let me check my website real quick on it because he believes that I must be some sort of identity thief since I make almost as much as he does in just a little over half the time! cheeky bugger

The website is www.RossVaughn.org and if you have an Iphone could you do me a quick favor and see if it is nicely formatted with the "wptouch" plugin?

Thank you so much.

There's a problem loading your page at the moment -- from my iphone and from my laptop (two different internet connections). It just times out.

      Yep,

Same as what Suzanne has said. You site isn't loading on my iPhone or laptop.

Let us know once you sorted it out, and I can check it again.

Checking to see what the problem is, figures as soon as I post this thread it went out like a light

It was pulling up nice until... the pop-up, um, popped up. It was huge on the iphone and blocked a lot out. I was able to scroll down and click on some later posts. The blog post took some time to pull up (but that happens sometimes with even the best of sites on my iPhone -- and I'm on a 3G network). At the bottom of the post, I saw the share icons (e-mail, bookmark, etc.)

So, looking good except for the popup (unfortunately).

I agree kill the popup in the mobile version - This can be done by editing your blogs theme for the mobile index page and header - where ever your pop code is. The site looks fine otherwise but it did take a while to load on my iphone 3g using the 3g network with all bars.

Looks fine on the iPod Touch. Just get rid of the pop up though.

Yeah, it works fine and it was relatively fast - although I am at home and here the iPhone is using my local wireless connection.

The popup is annoying on phone

Looking good! Although my connection is slow, that is more on my end than yours, I suspect.

    Hi Ross,

I just checked this on a 3GS and it looks fine, all the posts show up clear and it loads quickly so all good there. Although I have to agree, the pop-up needs to be removed for the i-phone, it loads straight away and is huge on the phone. I would say it would drive some people away from your blog, not what you want fella!

Other than that it looks great mate...

      Thanks for the confirm guys!

The popup is a wp plugin WordPress › WP Super Popup WordPress Plugins set to go off once every 3 days via cookie.

So Iam not sure exactly how I can prevent it from triggering for touch device users. Is anybody familiar with using this popup plugin, or how to detect if users browser is a 'touch device browser' and use a php conditional statement to remove the code?

      Thanks!
