Help! I can't make a contact form to save my life

Hi forum members ~ I'm back again (lucid this time ~ or as lucid as I ever get!) ~ finally (knock on wood, cross your fingers, etc.) over the flu turned sinus infection turned pneumonia. It's been nearly a week now since the last serious symptoms, so I'm calling it good and moving on.

One of the things I'm trying to catch up with is getting another site up and running, and I guess technology is just not my long suit ~

I'm using a w-p blog template for this site and, while I can do (and did) the photoshop work for the header, and I can do the text for the content, I cannot seem to make all the widgets and pluggins and whatnot work the way I want them to.

What I need mostly is a customizable contact form with a paypal button, much like the one on the order page of my ghostwriting for network marketers site.

If you know how to make a form like that one and are willing to swap skills, I will write 5 (400-450 words or so) articles on the topic of your choice in exchange for you making such a form for me and showing me how to use it.

    Have you considered using one of the free contact form scripts, or WP contact form plugins - which can be quite customizable - or would these not work for you?

      Yes, I actually spent (read "wasted") over an hour looking at free contact forms yesterday and just got more confused than I was when I started (and that's going some! ;-)

        When you were looking, did any look good?
        Can you explain a bit why you got confused?

        I'm new to the contact form issue myself and I just ran a search. The first one on the list looks good, but hard to tell until you actually open it up and try it. Just wondering if you realized something I'm missing.

          Here's a short list of some popular WP contact form plugins:

          10 of the best WordPress contact form plugins to choose from

          I've used Dagon and very satisfied with it - easy to configure. Not as powerful as CFormsII, but CForms was removed from the WP database for licensing reasons (CForms II removed from Repository. - WordPress Tavern Forum) - still a good option, but it was ALWAYS needing to be updated, probably because it is SO powerful (has a zillion options) - and it can't be autoupdated - you have to download, extract, upload, blah blah.

          I don't think I've tried contact form 7 myself, but it seems to be a popular one, and I'll be giving it a try.

    Use this plugin WordPress › Contact Form 7 WordPress Plugins

    Download it and place it in your plugin folder and activate it. You can alternatively download it from within wordpress.

      Hi Davioli ~ thanks for the reply and suggestion. I opened it, but I don't know ~ seems like everything you do on the web that isn't straight html is like those little Russian dolls that as soon as you open one, there's another one inside ~ only not fun like that! ;-)
