Quick Question - I am creating a couple of new websites, the question is, do you set up a separate google analytics account for each website or just set up a new profile for each new website you create ?

Also, do you use google analytics or is there a better free alternative out there ?

you don't have to set up a seperate account. Google analytics is the best free option I've found. it has plenty of stats to do your testing

  You can setup each website under a seperate profile, they can all run under one main account (your google account). It's also useful to know that your google account can be used for webmaster tools, adwords, adsense and so on.

One account, different profiles. Scroll to the bottom and click "add website profile".

Not necessary to open different account for various website. Open an account using one gmail account. There is an option to "add new website" in the drop down box. If you paste the analytical script in every page of a website, you can track each page traffic, and the keywords by which the search is done.

It has many advantages, and not hard to learn. It is as simple as creating an email account.

One account is enough for multiple domains/sites. There is no point of creating separate accounts for each domain.

Also, do you use google analytics or is there a better free alternative out there ?

I am not aware of anything better than Google Analytics.

Like the other said, just add your sites to the GA under your own Google account.
