Tutorial Needed To Setup Wordpress Automatic Ping

Does anybody know of a short tutorial that shows how to properly setup a wordpress blog to automatically ping to it's full potential?

    I don't have a tutorial, but if you'll simply paste this list:

    Streamlined, No-Duplicate List of Ping Servers | Backlinkage

    ...into Settings|Writing|Update Services from your blog's admin panel, you'll be good to go.

    There isn't really a short tutorial needed. Once you install Wordpress it is set to automatically ping with each new post.

    It is preset to ping the services with pingomatic, which will ping all the big and relevant ping sources.

    The big lists that people tell you to add to the list are usually outdated and useless as pingomatic now does it all for you. (Even the list mentioned above is not good).

      So you r saying that I should just leave the default settings as it should be enough?

    The default setting will help for sure, as pingomatic pings other services.

    But adding more sites as listed above will be more beneficial.

    It will not hurt to add more sites. May take a bit longer when you save/update, but that's it.

    Also do not forget to set your Privacy settings correctly, this will ensure that Wordpress uses the ping service.
